Description
Part of a huge Pink Floyd collection I have been asked to sell. The collection numbers well over 150 albums, so may well have something you are looking for if you wish to enquire.
Here is the 1971 pressing from the band "Meddle", my personal second favourite album of theirs. In a great all round condition. The cover has shelf-wear but not bad at all. The spine is a little more worn. These cover suffer damage so easily as it is made from a very soft card. Shame. There is a name neatly written inside the gatefold cover and the same name appears on one of the record labels. Cover grades as very good plus (VG+). The inner sleeve depicting other albums of the era is in great shape, just slightly discoloured from age. Grades excellent. Visually, the vinyl surfaces look superb. No marks of note. A brilliant glossy sheen. Visually grade as Ex+. The poster from the period is a nice extra and in good order. It measures 23" x 18". Printed on very heavy paper.
The mother / stamper combinations are as follows:- SIDE 1. A1-U. 1. AP. SIDE 2. B1-U. 1. RP. Weight of vinyl is 165 grams. This is a real heavyweight vinyl and the mother/stampers are really incredibly early in the production run. Sounds superb.
PLAY-GRADING: Both sides play through with great detail. In my notebook I made the following comments....... There is some very very light background noise on the opening 10 seconds. There is a spot of very light background during the final track. Side 1 was graded as excellent (Ex). On side 2 there is a touch of light background during the "Sonar" section. During playback to side 2 there is an odd isolated little static crackle. This makes it sound much worse than it is! Side 2 grades as excellent (Ex). Both sides play really really well. Dynamic, detailed and engrossing. The punch and clarity is stand out. A really nice copy of a cracking album.
In this huge collection I have around 18 or so discs either sealed or not played. This has been played, but still is a hugely enjoyable listen. This is the genuine UK first pressing, first variant.
