PINK FLOYD PIPER AT THE GATES OF DAWN SX 6157. Mothers/Stampers: M1 / A1
RECORD/SLEEVE:
First mono pressing! This is an example of a fairly well played record but one that is still a nice example. It does have some hairlines and at the four o'clock position there are a few visible bit light marks - nothing at all that affects play. In fact playback is fantastic! There is some crackle in between tracks but it's fairly light and the tracks themselves play loud and clear! Because of the hairlines noted on side 1, that side is more like a VG- but side 2 is a very strong VG.
The sleeve is brilliant! There is a little laminate creasing to the front but it's barely noticeable and there is still a lovely sheen to the front. The spine and corners are great, as is the back. There is some browning to the back and the opening edge but it's hard to find much better without breaking the bank. It doesn't have "File Under Pop" either which makes it extra cool. If you look, there is some writing (just a name and date) just under the flipback but this isn't intrusive and is actually quite endearing. The sleeve grades as EX!
