Description
Here we have for sale a UK 1st Press copy of Pink Floyd - Meddle in really great condition which is hard to find - this album was usually played a lot!
The matrix numbers are;
SHVL 795A-1U SHVL 795B-1U - see photos.
The rim text has the all important "The Gramophone Company Ltd...." running around the outer label edge.
We have cleaned the vinyl in our amazing Degritter cleaner & it has come up very shiny & black with some visible fine hairlines and light scuffs ( see photos) but NO feelable damage or scratches and nothing that affected playback.
Playback was absolutely monstrous.The power of this album cannot be understated and on a good hi-fi system with half decent speakers it will have you running for cover! Expect room shaking bass, huge dynamic shifts and stereo imagery that has sounds coming at you from all directions. Modern represses just don't cut it like an original first press!
There were no playback issues, no jumping, sticking or loud pops. There is some low noise in parts, mostly between tracks, and a few clicks in places, but nothing unusual for vinyl of this age. The record sits flat on the turntable with clean labels and spindle holes.
The fully textured gatefold sleeve is lovely for its age. Smooth and crisp still, it has some light creasing, very light corner and edge rubbing, and a very small worn area to the top of the spine which is still very clear and readable. One worn patch to the outer front sleeve edge which is just starting to fray. No writing, stains or rips.
The original printed shaped inner sleeve advertising other EMI/ Harvest albums of the day is also present & in good clean condition with no tears or wearthrough, just light discolouration. We have popped the record into a brand new poly lined anti static inner sleeve to keep it pristine after cleaning - you will receive both.
Overall a great copy to own, play and enjoy in super clean condition ready to pop straight on your turntable and let it rip!
