Description
An original and rare UK 05.11.1971 1st Press copy of Pink Floyd - Meddle.
Matrix SHVL 595 A-1U/ SHVL 595 B-1U - please see photos for matrix and stampers. We also have photos of the mothers, not shown, which we have retained for identification purposes.
Released on the Harvest Label SHVL 795, in a gatefold sleeve with slightly textured finish plus original shaped printed EMI paper inner sleeve ( see photos).
The record has been ultrasonically cleaned in our amazing Degritter and the vinyl has come up sparkling clean with glossy lustre retained. A couple of tiny, barely visible scuffs but nothing remotely feelable. Clean labels and spindle holes - graded EX.
Playtest reveals a sweeping & swirling sound, disturbing and hypnotic, this is disorientating and mesmerising with huge bass and detail. Very dynamic & powerful. It plays through beautifully with no issues - very occasional low noise/crackle in a couple of isolated places but nothing that spoils the enjoyment of this PF masterpiece!
The textured gatefold sleeve is clean & solid overall with wear to seams, corner rubbing, light creasing and slight wear to opening. Very clean interior. The spine is probably the most worn area with flaking to approx 50% ( see photos). No writing, stains, tears, tape or splits.
The original printed EMI paper inner sleeve is present & in good condition with mild discolouration. We have popped the record into a new poly lined inner to preserve it after cleaning - you will receive both.
