Pink Floyd : Soundtrack From The Film 'More' 1G / 1G 1st Press One EMI Box / Green Tinted Cover
This original first pressing plays to a superb standard with hardly any intrusion. There are no clicks or pops and the audio definition on both sides is stunning. There is only very minimal background on a handful of tracks and even then it is extremely quiet. This is an album with so many lengthy quiet sections and the clarity, depth and warmth of the audio is up there with the best I have ever heard. So often I have 'found' a genuine first press that plays with great quality only to be undone by one or two tracks displaying some interference, that is not the case here. 'Quicksilver' is an obvious example - a long incredibly quiet number and yet the clarity of sound for the vast majority is incredible. The vinyl is in lovely condition also and has clearly hardly ever been played.
The 'green tinted' cover is in excellent condition with only a little shelf wear and the original EMI inner has just a little marking here and there.
The first pressings only had one EMI box on the labels plus 'Made in Gt Britain - Sold In U.K. Subject...' around the bottom edge of each label. The back cover is green tinted and the couple are facing west as opposed to east on later copies.

Visual description
The vinyl is in lovely condition and still has a strong glossy sheen with no scratches. S1 has just one very small faint blemish on T1 but aside from that both sides are very clean with only a small number of faint hairlines, nothing stands out. The run out grooves are very clean and the one box EMI labels are near perfect with no marking and hardly any spindle wear.
Play grading
The 'birdsong' intro on 'Cirrus Minor' plays with very little static and the brief acoustic section that follows is close to perfect. The opening vocal section has one static tick at the start but otherwise plays with sublime clarity and warmth. The instrumental section is equally as impressive and has a clarity of sound that would be hard to beat. There is a just a hint of distortion towards the end but it is so minimal and the long fade out is stunning. I will grade it as Ex++ but it's a true to say many sections are stronger than that.
'The Nile Song' plays loud and true with no interference and no distortion. A rare powerhouse of a track that could not play any better and Mint is very much deserved.
'Crying Song' has a very faint whoosh sound on the gentle intro but it is very very quiet. As the music 'builds' the playback is outstanding and the opening vocal section is so clean and precise also with zero background. It continues to play with impeccable quality and the closing instrumental has no intrusion. The intro is Ex+ and the rest Mint- at the very least. Remember this is such a quiet track and the vinyl is 56 years old! Absolutely stunning!
'Up The Khyber' has barely any background on the intro and thereafter plays without fault. A 'busy' instrumental and yet every note is so clean and succinct. Mint-
The intro on 'Green Is The Colour' plays with wonderful clarity and the vocal section is of the same high end standard. This is an exceptional version with no interference, a couple of minor statics that is all. Another very quiet track and you can only marvel at the clarity of sound on offer here. The piano end section is faultless and Mint- is again fair.
'Cymbaline' keeps up the good work and plays with sublime quality through every vocal and instrumental section. There is no interference just some very light background statics here and there. Near Mint
The percussive 'Party Sequence' ends the side with near perfect audio. Just a couple of very quiet ticks on the fade out so I will say Mint-

The intro on 'Main Theme' plays with stunning clarity once more and there are only a handful of minor statics. As the percussive section begins the playback is 'as new' and it proceeds in the same way. It's quite a long instrumental and it plays with tremendous clarity throughout. A couple of more mega light statics but the audio is superb here, cannot fault it. Ok a handful of statics right at the end also so I will grade as Near Mint overall but it goes without saying that the vast majority plays with impeccable quality.
The second high octane track 'Ibiza Bar' plays with great power and definition and no interference. There is not so much as a dust tick here and Mint is 100% deserved. 'More Blues' is another quiet number and the clarity cannot be faulted. A handful of barely audible statics and Mint- is fair. Gilmour's guitar work is often forgotten on this track, superb sound! A stunning version.
The intro on 'Quicksilver' is incredible! So often there is some static etc but not here and the next quiet passage plays with stunning clarity also. This is the long build up section and it honestly could not play any better. This entire section is so quiet but the clarity of sound definitely has the wow factor! There are some light statics / ticks as the volume gets a little louder but the next quieter section has barely any background. I'm only at the halfway point! It continues to play so clearly and there is nothing to detract from the audio. I mean how quiet does this instrumental get! It is without doubt one of the cleanest versions I have ever listened to and the closing section exemplifies that. A handful of minor statics right at the end but from start to finish nothing stands out... apart from how good the clarity is! A Near Mint- at the bare minimum.
'A Spanish Piece' is flawless from start to finish with no intrusion. Lovely senorita indeed! Mint
'Dramatic Theme' ends this fine album without any background. There are no negatives and again Mint is deserved.
The Cover & Inner Sleeve,
The G& L cover is in excellent condition with only minimal wear. The edges and thin pinched spine are superb with no marking / rubbing and only a couple of corners have minor wear. The opening edge is in great shape also with hardly any handling wear. The laminated front cover has one faint crease near the top edge and a slightly more obvious one in the lower right corner. The 'green tinted' back cover with the couple facing west / right is very clean with only a little marking near the left edge. However, what is very noticeable is how clean the flip-backs are - they have hardly any of the staining / marking on the edges that you so often see and they remain perfectly attached to the cover. There is just very minor rubbing in the centre of the top flip-back. A very strong example overall.
The original EMI die-cut inner has no side splits or tears and hardly any creasing. It just has some marking on each side and the cat number is also written in one top corner.
Play tested on my Rega P2 with AT-VM95EN Cart / Denon PMA-520AE Amp / B&W 684 Speakers

I will only send items items worldwide via tracked shipping. This provides 'peace of mind' in case of loss or damage. The shipping costs are shown below and combined shipping is always offered. Any over-payment will always be refunded.
The Royal Mail only insure up to a value of £250 so if an item sells for more it may be wise to use a courier service (e.g. Parcelforce or DPD). An extra insurance premium will be required but I will not know the exact amount until the final sale price is known. Because of this I will sometimes have to estimate the cost and this will be shown in the listing. All vinyls are packaged in strong over-sized custom made mailers with plenty of extra cardboard protection. They are placed inside separate poly-lined inners outside the cover so as to avoid seam splits in transit and then placed inside a PVC sleeve to provide even more protection. I pride myself on my high quality packaging as my feed confirms and if any customer has any specific requirements I am more than happy to help.
The mailers I use cost £1.00 each and I will use anything between 3-5 cardboard stiffeners which cost approx £0.18 each. There is also the cost of the poly-lined inner and PVC sleeve to consider, it all adds up! Not forgetting that eBay take 10% of the shipping fee also!!
