Description

Massively Rare Original 1968 U.K. Stereo **Near Mint** 1st Pressing 'A Saucer Full of Secrets' by Pink Floyd!!! - This is Mega Rare UK Columbia Black/Blue Label 1st Pressing Complete With Original E. J. Day Flipback Stereo Sleeve!!! The ONLY way to own this Seminal Psychedelic Record!!!!

You are bidding on one of the all time classic UK psychedelic LP's - this record is impossible to find anymore as a UK Columbia stereo 1st press!!!  There are a number of features that make this record very, very rare. Firstly is that it is the Original 1968 1st Ever UK Stereo Pressing, with the blue/black Columbia labels and the important -1//-1 matrix endings!!! Believe me, as a UK Stereo 1st pressing, this is a very sought-after record today!!! This record only had an incredibly short initial press run on these 1st issue blue/black Columbia labels and is very, very  difficult to find anymore - most copies of this record turn up today as much later 'fame' reissues. This is the ultimate UK 1st press, straight from the master!!!

Secondly, and perhaps even more importantly, this record is in impossible **Near Mint** vinyl condition, and I mean Near Mint! I have never seen another UK 1st press copy approaching this kind of condition. The playing surfaces are absolutely *pristine* with all the deep glass-like shine of a newly-pressed record! They have No blemishes whatsoever, NO scratches, No hairlines, No scuffs nothing! Not even a paperline! You will never see another copy like this one. It has only been played once or twice since new! The 1st press laminated Garrod & Lofthouse flipback sleeve grades as excellent with no major flaws at all.  A pristine museum-quality vinyl pressing of this very rare record! It will be the best 1st press vinyl you will probably ever see -  Don't miss it!

Dead Wax info:

Side 2: YAX 3634 -1

This vinyl is in stunning immaculate condition!!! The Classic 1st press Blue on Black Columbia centre labels are in stunning *Near Mint*condition with NO Tears, NO Peeling, NO Scribbles and NO unwanted writing of any kind!!! There are only the faintest trace of a spindle line from the record's 1st play by the original owner. Other than that, there are NO spindle lines at all!!! The gramophone rims containing the all important 1st press matrix's are also MINT-!!! What can I say about the vinyl that I have not already said? It is stone cold Mint- with NO Scratches, No scuffing, NO Hairlines NO Bagrash, NO blemishes of any kind at all! It is absolutely perfect!!! This disc looks like it came off the master press this morning!!! It has all the deep shine a newly pressed record that as only ever been played once or at the most twice before!!!  Impossible for a MONO 1st press Beatles album!!! The record still retains ALL of its original gloss and shine and has NO dulling and NO nasty greying of the grooves!!! I am very pleased to state that this is a record that also plays as good as it looks!!! It it has NO jumps, NO skips, NO between track crackle and NO nasty loud pops!!! The thick quality pressed chunky 1960's vinyl looks and feels great (it is very heavy!). I have no hesitation whatsoever with grading this vinyl as a strong Mint-!!! Its as simple as that it does not have a single blemish to it - not even a hairline!!! It is that most elusive of things, a true Mint- UK Pink Floyd 1st pressing of A Saucerfull Of Secrets (suitable for the highest grade mint- collection - you will not find a better example!!)

The original 1st press Garrod & Lofthouse  front laminated flip-back sleeve is also in great condition. These sleeves ALWAYS turn up grubby and worn-out looking today. This one is not!!! The laminate is in beautiful crisp , clear condition, bringing out all the bold vibrant colours of this legendary sleeve!!! The sleeve still retains ALL of its original stiffness and BOX SHAPE!!! It has NO unwanted writing or scribbles (again, very common with other sleeves). The sleeve lies perfectly FLAT with NO RING WEAR but does have moderate feathering to the opening edge, and some very light wear to the corners as is common with this sleeve. The un-laminated reverse side is where the usual problems occur on these sleeves. However I am pleased to report that this one is SUPERB!!!  A superb example of this sleeve which grades as Excellent at the very least - most would grade much higher!!!! Anyone familiar with this original stereo sleeve will appreciate how rare it is in this condition!!! Comes complete with its original EMI ads and 'patents applied for' inner sleeve which is in superb Ex condition. A seminal album that just never turns up for sale anymore!, and never in Near Mint vinyl condition like this!! Don't miss it!!!

Please see my feedback to see that I am a trustworthy & genuine record seller. My record's are regularly featured in the UK Record Collector Magazine (Page 25 of the current June 2007 issue has 2 colour pictures of my recent eBay sales!).

An absolutely essential (and very rare) psychedelic record to own!!!

Being the responsible adults you are, it is entirely up to you to take this up  - we strongly advise you to do this but will not hassle you about it. You either add the required insurance or you don't. If you do add the required insurance and your record is lost/damaged, you will get a refund. If you don't add the required insurance and your record is lost/damaged, you will not get a refund. Can we be any clearer? I think not.

Refunds & Feedback ... Please read this carefully ... We try to give you the best quality examples of rare records available. However, there will always be somebody out there whose expectations far exceed UK record collector grading standards.  If you are in anyway unsatisfied with your record or our grading of it please refer to the UK Record Collector Grading Chart very carefully BEFORE emailing us. We strictly adhere to it and will only offer refunds (minus the postage AND our eBay costs) if we are satisfied that we have fallen below UK record collector grading standards. This will very rarely, if ever, happen. We will not be impressed with buyers disputing our gradings without even bothering to check the UK record collector grading standards chart first - you have been warned ...

Buyers who continually Haggle, Whine and Moan to try to decrease the price they won their auctions for will be blocked from bidding on future auctions and can toodle off down to HMV or Virgin where they can harass the counter staff there.

We will always leave feedback upon receipt of feedback. In an ideal world we would like to leave feedback as soon as the record has been shipped but due to feedback blackmail in the past (i,e, ",,,I want a partial refund or I will leave negative feedback") we have opted to take this measure. Contact must be made within 3 days of winning the auction. If payment has not been received after 10 days a non paying bidder alert will be placed. If payment is then not received within 7 days Negative feedback WILL be left and the buyer WILL be given a strike by eBay. Thanks for reading.
