Description

You are looking at a rare UK MONO 1st. Issue LP by Pink Floyd called "The Piper at the Gates of Dawn".  Columbia Records SX 6157.  It is on a Black Columbia label with the Blue Columbia trademark logo. It has the KT Tax Code,  & Ernest J. Day flipback sleeve.  Side 1 Matrix info is: XAX 3419-2 GA 1  Side 2 Matrix info is: XAX 3420-1 GH 1.

Side 1:  Astronomy Domine, Lucifer Sam, Matilda Mother, Flaming, Pow R. Toc H., Take Up Thy Stethoscope And Walk

Side 2: Interstellar Overdrive, The Gnome, Chapter 24, The Scarecrow, Bike

Overall, the album, cover and inner sleeve are in good condition.  The record labels are in good condition with several spindle marks.  There are several surface scratches on the vinyl, but considering this LP is 39 years old, it's held up very well.  There is some light surface noise, but plays with minimal pops and crackling and NO jumps or sticks.  The flipback sleeve does have corner wear and the opening edge does show some feathering.  On the front, there are VERY minimal bends that can been seen at angled light.  The back has some discoloration and a few marks that are visible in the picture.  There are NO names or initials on the sleeve.  There are very few of these 1st. issues still remaining, especially ones that haven't totally degraded in condition over the past 39 years.

NOTE:  Although the LP is MONO, the sleeve is Stereo (SCX 6157).  When I purchased this LP, I was told that some of the later mono 1st. pressings were put into stereo sleeves.  I can not confirm this.  If anybody has information regarding this, feel free to contact me.

Fair shipping costs and a $0.01 starting bid make this is an excellent opportunity for you to own a rare UK MONO 1st. issue of Pink Floyd's first album from 1967.  As time goes on, there will be fewer and fewer of these treasured collectables available.  This is truly a classic album.
