Hi, and welcome to psych_out! auctions!!!
I've collected 50's, 60's, and early 70's records of almost every genre - Psych, Prog, Psychedelic Funk, Soul, Rhythm 'n' Blues, Pop, Folk, Garage, Acid, Freakbeat, Rock, Jazz e.t.c and everything in between for all my life!!! Obviously, 90% of the LP's I've ever gotten hold of are completely trashed from the hard living ways and the rock 'n' roll, drug and booze fuelled debauchery of all the wild parties of the times, but the golden 10%? Reluctantly, I've decided to offer them to all of you serious record collectors out there!!! I'm currently trying to set up a record label so unfortunately personal sacrifices have to be made when it comes to my collection, resulting in GREAT benefits for all you shrewd bidders and serious connosieurs of TRUE solid gold music history out there!!! Make no mistake, I'll try my best to consistently offer some of the VERY BEST records available on ebay, many which have taken me YEARS to find!!!
I aim to put a weekly batch up (time permitting) every Wednesday, all timed to end 10 days later on Saturday night. I'll only ever offer THE BEST, MOST AMAZING, MOST IMPORTANT, VERY RAREST UK 1ST PRESS ORIGINAL RELEASE RECORDS I've got!!! I won't insult you with later 2nd pressings unless they are of exceptional quality and rarity. I'm sure you love good music as much as me, especially when it's a 1st Press LP, direct from the master tape, as the musicians intended it to be heard (none of this "digitally remastered",weak reissued, remixed rubbish from hired hands with one eye on the mixing desk and the other on the clock! If these session men really knew how genius should sound, surely they would've been geniuses themselves?! There will only ever be one Hendrix, and that's just a tiny example).

This psych classic sold barely anything as a Mono UK 1st Press (stereo was the new standard in '67) and had a very, very small run before being reissued on the black and white EMI label. This album is SURELY one of the best of all time. It has to be the best psychedelia I've ever heard. If you've never listened to it before, it's guaranteed to blow your mind!!! It certainly showed me just what sort of things are possible with sound. As you probably know, this original Mono Blue & Black Columbia 1967 UK 1st Press is IMPOSSIBLY RARE, even more so considering worldwide Pink Floyd collectors have snapped up most of them - so when one hits the market, it really is a moment to behold, let alone one as early as this!!!

Easily the greatest thing Pink Floyd ever did with every song bar one written by the genius of Syd Barrett, one of music's most notorious acid casualties. We should be grateful that he wrote this masterpiece, one of THE greatest albums of all time. This original Mono mix is extra special. Mostly mixed by Syd, you've GOT to hear the "Ever So High" bit in Flaming in it's Mono form, it sounds truly incredible with Roger Waters Bass riff covered in echo!!! There's a number of other differences from the stereo version too such as a growling organ at the start of Interstellar Overdrive, and if you listen carefully to the mono mix of "Pow R. Toc H.",you can hear extra vocals such as a stoned Roger Waters howling with laughter!!! Syd was a true, true genius, and this was his genius album (with a little help from his friends of course!). Absolute timeless work of art classic psychedelic rock masterpiece!!!

Trivia : This was part of a collection of classic albums recorded in Abbey Road in the summer of 1967 - in the studio's next door, The Beatles were building Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, and in the next one on The Pretty Things were building SF Sorrow!

Classic UK 1st Press "KT" blue & black Columbia labels!!! Both sides are GREAT with minimal signs of age, NO writing, NO stickers, and NO tears whatsoever!!! Just has some light spindle marks from general light use over the years!!! BRILLIANT for a 52 year old record!!! Both must grade overall at least as Very Good!!!

Spectacular Original 1967 UK 1st Press Vinyl!!! Nice bright, and shiny with fantastic jet black mirror like surfaces, it looks OK with NO really excessively nasty marks, NO deep scratches that ruin playback, and NO vicious scuffs either!!! It just has a bit of general age wear such as a few of the usual light wispy sleeve traces, some feelable but still fairly mild scratches, and a few light hairlines (only visible in angled light) mostly from where it has sat or been removed from it's cover over the years. Of course, none of these blemishes interfere with play too much thanks to the quality deeply pressed 1st issue, and they CERTAINLY don't effect the smoothness of it's playing!!! Used, but still GREAT for a record of this age and rarity!!! Must grade overall visually at least as Fair++++!!! (graded STRICTLY to the UK RRPG standards, not overgraded AT ALL!!! Customer satisfaction is of 100% importance to me)

Record : Audio -

Thankfully, it plays BRILLIANTLY with fantastic mono blast and clarity!!! It really sounds great with NO hops, hisses, sticks, or skips!!! Only (like pretty much all records) has low level crackle in places such as on quieter sections e.t,c, some ticking here and there as expected (nothing overly drastic or annoying at all) and a hint of mild and light "bluesman's fag" static in few and far between places such as on some of the quieter sections, but it truly doesn't overshadow the music AT ALL!!! I'd even argue it gives it added soul!!! A GREAT listen - The music is TRULY loud and clear with that bass, depth, warmth and clarity you can only get from UK 1st Press vinyl!!! Absolutely essential!!! BRILLIANT for a record of this age and rarity!!! Must grade overall audiably at the least as Very Good minus!!! (graded STRICTLY to the UK RRPG standards, not trashed or overgraded AT ALL!!! Customer satisfaction is of 100% importance to me)

Sleeve :

Original UK 1967 1st press EARLIEST EVER NO "file under pop" front laminated flipback iconic E.J Day sleeve complete with original advertisement inner (remarkably clean condition with only some usual easily repairable seam splitting - NO writing OR graffiti whatsoever)!!! IMPOSSIBLE to find this sleeve in anything approaching a good condition - most are spent, torn and worn due to age and the lifestyles of the buyers of this particular LP!!! This one is NOT, and looks AWESOME, especially considering the nature of these fragile sleeves!!! NO tears, NO really bad marks AT ALL, and still ULTRA strong and solid after all these years!!! Only has some minor signs of ultra mild ageing such as some light creasing and a hint of a record imprint, only a little dusting to the flipback tips and a tiny amount of ultra vague age spots to the remarkably clean unlaminated back (truly minimal with no writing, grubbiness or graffiti - absolutely nothing drastic whatsoever), a touch of denting to one or two of the four corners which virtually every vintage sleeve has, and POSSIBLY (just to be sure!!!) one or two other minor signs of age here and there, though nothing that really stands out to note at all!!! And that's truly about it!!! I tend to bring it down by listing every single minor negative I can possibly find, but this remains a FANTASTIC sleeve, and a TRUE rarity to find one as outstanding as this - most have been virtually destroyed or are just about being held together, but not this one!!! It remains ultra strong, solid, unsplit, unspoilt and beautifully presentable, and even the spine remains ultra strong, solid, unsplit, and 100% readable!!! Must grade overall at the very least as Very Good!!! (graded STRICTLY to the UK RRPG standards, not trashed or overgraded AT ALL!!! Customer satisfaction is of 100% importance to me)

Summary : A GREAT earliest ever example of this stunning NO "file under pop” sleeve 52 year old INCREDIBLY RARE psych classic Mono 1st Press LP!!! Hard to find in ANY condition, but simply IMPOSSIBLY RARE TO FIND ONE AS EARLY AND AWESOME SOUNDING AS THIS!!! YOU MAY NEVER GET THE CHANCE AGAIN, so don't miss out on this scarce opportunity to own a true piece of 60's/70's music history!!! Bid now!!!

I've realized that most countries have their own unique grading system. I base mine strictly on the UK RRPG grading system (occasionally with a + or a - to indicate the higher and lower ends of the grade, though I only use these if i'm having real trouble deciding!), so please check their chart for further clarity if you are unsure of what my grades mean. As a general rule, a mint record will be 100% perfect, an excellent record will be in fantastic clean condition with the occasional mild mark and minor use from the years, and a very good record will have noticeable, yet light visual markings and obvious signs of age and use, but will still remain clean with relatively light wear and will play fantastically well with plenty of life remaining in it. I very rarely offer records below the very good region unless they are of an EXCEPTIONAL rarity and playing quality...I hope this helps!
