I am offering up for auction my collectors copy of a Saucerful of Secrets, SCX-6258 on the BLUE UK COLUMBIA label.  I have finally completed recording my entire Floyd catalog to reel-to-reel and it’s time to let them go to another good home.

I had sold the companion MONO version of this title recently; see my feedback for that transaction, but I found it more difficult to let go of the STEREO copy; until now that is..

This is a very, very rare version of this LP as it is a A TRUE 1ST PRESSING!  I will note all of the proof of this statement below:

This LP is extremely rare and next to impossible to find on a good day  but what makes this LP even rarer and really special is that it’s the 'EARLIEST' of the 1ST pressings and it is a STEREO pressing which is MUCH RARER that the mono pressings as anyone who watches eBay closely knows all too well.

VINYL:

To start; the record is pressed on VERY THICK CHUNKY VINYL and not the flimsy thin vinyl used on the later pressings.

The MATRIX NUMBERS in the dead wax ends in 1-A & 1-R.

LABLES:

Black Columbia label with silver text, and a BLUE "Columbia Records Magic Notes Trademark" at the top, and a BLUE "Columbia" in the center.

Underneath the blue "Columbia" it says "Sold in U.K. subject to resale price conditions. See price lists."

At the bottom of the label, it says "Made in GT Britain."

Text around the bottom edge of the label starts at 10 o'clock and says:

The Gramophone Co., Ltd. All rights of the manufacturer and of the owner of the recorded work reserved. Unauthorized public performance, broadcasting, and copying of this record prohibited.

The COVER is graded a Excellent++:

Laminated flipback cover. At top fold-over of back cover it says "File under POPULAR: Pop Groups." SCX-6258, STEREO.

At bottom fold-over of back cover it says "6807 TPS Printed and made by Garrod & Lofthouse Ltd. Patents pending SX6258 / SCX6258"

The cover has limited edge & some spine wear; corners are dinged slightly; very slightly.  There are some creases albeit it very small and light; not heavy creasing.  There is NO writing and NO ring wear, NO SEAM SPLITS and the COVER IS FLAT! The opening edges are beautifully STRAIGHT w/again; only the very slightest of feathering if that.

THE VINYL IS GRADED MINT-!

It took me (5) copies of this LP to finally find one in this condition.  It is simply in stunning condition with MAYBE ONE or TWO wispy lines from removing from & replacing back into the inner sleeve.

IT VISUALLY LOOKS MINT- and as it had been pressed yesterday w/NO GRAYING of the grooves!

PLAY GRADING:

It was also relief to find that the playing of the record is as stunning as the visual; WHICH IS NOT ALWAYS THE CASE! Some of my worst looking records play the best! It plays “DEAD QUIET”, CRISP & CLEAN STEREO! with only the slightest low-level hiss at very loud volumes during silent passages.  There are NO HISS, NO POPS, NO CRACKLES, and NO JUMPS & NO STICKS!  The sound quality is simply superb with NO GROOVE WEAR and NO DISTORTION!

Please ask any questions you may have.  I SHIP WORLDWIDE.  Shipping: $12-USD (USA), $18-USD (REST OF THE WORLD). Thank you!
