Description
HERE is a fine first pressing of Pink Floyd's The Dark Side of the Moon on UK Harvest from 1973 (SHVL 804), bearing the iconic solid blue triangle - a pretty decent example of a rare and sought after piece of rock history.
The disc with its coveted A2/B2 matrices is in solid VG condition, with both labels showing only moderate traces of spindle activity.
Both sides of the vinyl look great in normal light but when examined under strong halogen lighting show plenty of very fine surface marks and some scuffing - but certainly no feelable or audible scratches.
The disc plays well with only light background noise here and there; playback from this first pressing is fabulous, and the stereo separation and special effects - dripping tap, helicopter, clocks etc - are extraordinary. There is a very small edgewarp (possibly a pressing fault) which does not affect play in any way.
The black poly-lined inner sleeve is unsplit and the two posters and two sticker inserts are present; the posters have clearly never seen a wall and are in excellent condition, though both stickers have acquired folds during storage.
The cover is in VG condition with no tears or writing but with some scuffing and ringwear, edgewear, cornerwear and a few light indentations here and there - overall a perfectly acceptable example of an unlaminated gatefold which is generally prone to wear and sticker damage.
