As many people may already know, I usually end all my items on Sunday nights (and these will still continue!)!!!! However as I had quite a few extra items of UTMOST RARITY come in to me this week (they really are TOP QUALITY, and NOT cheap overstock!) and completely ran out of time to list them last Sunday - I decided to do a 'one off' set of listings of Friday auctions ending on Friday 1st August!!!! So PLEASE NOTE that this auction will end late on Friday 1st August (and NOT Sunday!) - though of course, I will be putting more auctions on during the week for next Sundays auctions!!!! Thanks for reading and please take a look at this AMAZING item below:-On offer here is a VERY rare LP (especially in this condition!!!!) by Pink Floyd called "Saucerful Of Secrets" and is an ORIGINAL 1968 UK 1st Pressing on the 1st Press Blue/Black Columbia label!!!! THIS LP IS SERIOUSLY RARE AND VIRTUALLY IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND!!!! JUST TRY AND FIND ANOTHER ONE!!!! IT IS ONE OF PINK FLOYD'S RAREST & MOST SOUGHT AFTER LPs EVER - AND VIRTUALLY NEVER TURNS UP FOR SALE!!!! BUT WHAT MAKES THIS LP REALLY SPECIAL IS THAT IT IS 1ST PRESSED IN MEGA RARE STEREO!!!! AND THIS IS ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND ON THIS LP!!!! BACK IN 1968 WHEN THIS LP WAS FIRST RELEASED - MONOS STILL DOMINATED THE UK RECORD BUYING MARKET AND DEMAND FOR STEREOS WAS ABSOLUTELY TINY!!!! AS A RESULT ALMOST EVERY 1ST PRESSING OF THIS LP WAS MADE IN COMMON MONO - WITH VIRTUALLY NONE IN MEGA RARE STEREO AT ALL!!!! AND THIS MEANS THAT FINDING A UK 1ST PRESSING OF THIS INCREDIBLE LP IN MEGA RARE STEREO IS VIRTUALLY IMPOSSIBLE - AS BARELY ANY WERE EVER MADE!!!!
BUT WHAT MAKES THIS LP EVEN RARER STILL - IS THAT IT IS AN ULTRA RARE 'FACTORY SAMPLE' 1ST PRESSING!!!! AND THIS IS ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND ON THIS LP!!!! 'FACTORY SAMPLE' 1ST PRESSINGS WERE ONLY EVER PRESSED IN ABSOLUTELY TINY AMOUNTS (NO MORE THAN A FEW HUNDRED COPIES ONLY!), AND WERE ONLY EVER USED FOR 'IN-HOUSE' USE BY EMI / COLUMBIA THEMSELVES (FOR PROMOTIONAL PURPOSES), OR VERY OCCASSIONALLY ONE WAS GIVEN OUT TO 'IMPORTANT VISITORS' TO THE FACTORY - SUCH AS PROSPECTIVE CLIENTS FOR EXAMPLE!!!! THEY WERE NEARLY ALWAYS ONE OF THE 'EARLIEST' 1ST PRESSINGS EVER MADE (AS IN THIS CASE!) - AND ARE NOW VERY VERY HARD TO FIND!!!! AND OF COURSE, YOU CAN NEVER BEE 100% CERTAIN THAT THEY WERE ON THIS LP FROM NEW (UNLESS YOU HAVE THE FULL LPs HISTORY!). THOUGH IN THIS CASE, I HAVE EXAMINED THE STICKER VERY CAREFULLY INDEED - AND IT IS 100% GENIUNE (NOT A RE-PRINT!), AND THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO EVIDENCE OF 'RE-STICKING' AND NO GLUE MARKS EITHER!!!! THE STICKER IS ALSO 100% FLAT TO THE TOUCH TOO - LEADING ME TO STRONGLY BELIEVE THAT IT HAS BEEN ON THIS LP FROM NEW, AND THE STICKER ITSELF IS DEFINITELY 100% GENIUNE IN ALL RESPECTS!!!! BARELY ANY 'FACTORY SAMPLE' PRESSINGS OF THIS LP WERE EVER MADE - MAKING THIS LP OF THE UTMOST RARITY (ESPECIALLY IN THIS CONDITION!)!!!!
NOT ONLY THAT BUT THIS LP IS IN GREAT CONDITION OVERALL - AND CLEARLY HASNT BEEN PLAYED MUCH AT ALL!!!! JUST TAKE A LOOK AT THE PICTURES!!!! THIS IS THE ORIGINAL 1968 UK STEREO 1ST PRESSING ON THE 1ST PRESS BLUE/BLACK COLUMBIA LABEL, 1ST PRESS 'SOLD IN THE UK' LABEL TEXT, 1ST PRESS 1/1 STEREO MATRIX ENDINGS, 1ST PRESS 'PATENTS APPLIED FOR' ADVERTISING INNER SLEEVE, AND 1ST PRESS 'GARROD & LOFTHOUSE' FLIPBACK LAMINATED 'PATENTS PENDING' STEREO COVER!!!! THIS LP IS SERIOUSLY RARE AND VIRTUALLY IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND LIKE THIS - SO DONT MISS OUT ON THIS AMAZING OPPORTUNITY!!!! This is the ORIGINAL Columbia UK 1st Pressing from 1968 and is in GREAT condition overall!!!! The record is pressed on THICK quality vinyl. The Cat. No is SCX 6258 on the ORIGINAL 1st Press Columbia Label (see picture) and is a much MUCH rarer UK STEREO 1st Pressing!!!!
The record labels are in SUPERB condition (see pictures) with NO wear, NO writing, and only a VERY few light spindle marks!!!! IT IS VERY CLEAR THAT THIS RECORD HASNT BEEN PLAYED MUCH AT ALL!!!! The vinyl is in GREAT condition overall - and is still VERY bright & shiny, and a very VERY presentable record indeed!!!! Most of these 60s LPs had been to a lot of wild parties and are usually found totally worn out, and almost unplayable. This one is NOT and has NO nasty concentric marks AT ALL, only 2 or 3 VERY small lateral hairline type marks, only 3 or 4 light scufflines (NON sounding!), only a VERY few VERY light hairlines, and only a VERY few of the lightest paper scuffs only visible under light!!!! THE RECORD STILL RETAINS ITS ORIGINAL JUST PRESSED LOOK!!!! It is also GREAT to find that the record plays as STUNNINGLY as the visual!!!! The record plays with NO skips, only a few VERY light clicks (though mostly NONE!), NO sticking, NO jumps, barely ANY crackle AT ALL, and only some slight background sound on the run on grooves & gaps - though this is lost WAY behind ALL but the VERY quietest parts of the music ONLY (and as 99% of this LP is very VERY loud indeed, this means there are barely ANY quiet parts AT ALL!)!!!! The sound quality is simply SUPERB with NO distortion and NO groovewear either!!!! The record must MEGA STRICTLY grade Good+ (PROPERLY graded, NOT trashed!) if not better - and is still a very VERY decent record indeed, which is very VERY strictly graded!!!! Believe me this record is NOT overgraded in ANY way!!!! I use STRICT RC grading standards - it is not in my interest not to!!!! Brillant!!!! The record comes in its ORIGINAL 1st Press 'Patents Applied For' Advertising inner sleeve which is in BRILLIANT condition!!!! The ORIGINAL 1st Press 'Garrod & Lofthouse' Flipback Laminated 'Patents Pending' STEREO Cover is in GREAT condition overall - and is a very VERY presentable cover indeed, with NO major defects AT ALL!!!! The cover has NO edge wear (apart from 2 or 3 traces of 'touching in' on the bottom edge!), NO spinal wear, only slight corner wear (NOT through the colour), some evidence of 'tipping in' to the corners, only a few light creases (cover is still VERY flat looking!), shiny laminate, and NO writing!!!! The opening edge is still nice and straight with only some slight feathering (but absolutely NO splits AT ALL!)!!!! Even the unlaminated back of the cover is in GREAT condition with NO grubbyness, only 2 or 3 TINY 'age spots', barely ANY yellowing, only VERY slight rubbing, and NO writing!!!! And even though this cover has NO MAJOR DEFECTS AT ALL, I will ONLY grade this cover MEGA STRICTLY Good++++ (PROPERLY graded, NOT trashed!) if not better - to avoid ANY disappointment!!!! And it is still a very VERY presentable cover indeed!!!! THIS LP IS SERIOUSLY RARE AND VIRTUALLY IMPOSSIBLE TO LOCATE (ESPECIALLY AS AN ULTRA RARE 'FACTORY SAMPLE' 1ST PRESSING!) - SO DONT MISS OUT ON THIS INCREDIBLE OPPORTUNITY!!!!
