On offer here is the second ultra rare album by the band Pink Floyd entitled Saucerful of Secrets on the original blue black Columbia label catalogue number SCX 6258.The current mint Record Collector book price is £400 but copies in this condition often sell for more.It is the last time when Gilmour and Barrett contributed together. This record only sold in tiny numbers because LP's were so expensive then at £2, the equivalent now of around £40.Driving lessons for example were 50 p per hour now £25,fifty times as much..See below for more detail and PLEASE READ VERY CAREFULLY.
SLEEVE
I would grade the front laminated rear flipback sleeve as NM There is no writing or names on the sleeve.This  sleeve typically is prone to serious wear but not this one which is clean and bright .There is  no wear on the top edge at all.On the bottom edge there is the faintest of rubbing on the right about one eighth of an inch long but to see it at all,you have to peer at it closely even using a magnifying glass.The sleeve edges are straight and unworn.The words Pink Floyd  are fully legible on the spine and the spine is totally unworn.Even the laminate on the front is in almost perfect condition with just one tiny crease virtually impossible to see..Quite simply this sleeve is stunning and impossible to upgrade.It comes with the advertising original inner sleeve in NM condition.It is made by Garrard and Lofthouse patents pending which shows the earliest sleeve with File under Pop on the top right.Gilmore is printed instead of the correct Gilmour so first pressing.To summarise I have never seen a sleeve as good as this in over 40 years.Amazing to think this was released almost 50 years ago.
RECORD LABELS
These are  NM with just the faintest trace of spindle wear but very hard to see unless you look very closely.The labels are clean and bright as if purchased yesterday from a shop.There are no  marks and no names on the labels.Oare present.f course Sold in U.K. 
VINYL
I would grade both sides of vinyl as NM certainly EX+The record plays on both sides without any noticeable background noise and my Linn Sondek can be unforgiving.There are some quiet passages but no problem with this album.The reproduction is clean and bright with beautiful clarity as one would expect from a first pressing..There is no warping or dishing.The record has been professionally cleaned on a machine costing £1000sThe matrix is XAX 3633/3634/1 so earliest and the stampers are GD and H so although I am not an expert on stampers,I have been told this is very very early if not the earliest.
Overall I do not think anyone will be disappointed with this rare L P..The sleeve is the best I have ever seen.The vinyl is at least EX+NM To give everyone a chance,I have set a low start price for bidding so good luck to everyone.Please see below for postage.FREE TO U.K. BUYERS.I prefer paypal but will accept a cheque or postal order from U.K.buyers but I would need to allow time for the cheque to clear.
