Some general remarks: I think there is already more than enough said about this one. One of the top selling albums of all time. Engineered to perfection by Alan Parsons. He never achieved to do a similiar great job after this one was finished. Although the copy on auction is not the earliest of pressings the sound is incredible. Truly and honestly there is not much difference compared to my A2/B2 solid triangle 1st press. But what even might count more is the condition of the Vinyl; DSOTM contains very quiet sections (for example the "heartbeat" at the beginning of Side 1) and if the Vinyl is not in top condition it is not much fun listening to it. The copy on auction is EXTREMELY clean.
I grade my records on top notch equipment, using the expensive Lyra Kleos MC-cartridge. It reveals everything from any Vinyl which sometimes can be a curse, especially with 40+ year old records. When I grade a record as Excellent, I am pretty sure many other sellers would not hestitate to call it Near Mint. When I give a record the "Near Mint" grading it is practically flawless. I am collecting Vinyl since 35+ years and own hundreds of records from the day they came into the shops. I clean all records on my Keith Monks RCM II and add the Nagaoka N102 protective sleeve to each record.
The Vinyl: NEAR MINT
The surface is clean and shiny. Playback is loud, strong and dynamic. One of the cleanest copies I ever came across.
The Labels: NEAR MINT
A few wispy spindle traces only.
The unlaminated black Gatefold-Sleeve: VG+
One of the hardest to preserve Sleeves. It has mild ring-wear and a bit of edge-rubbing. No splits. Spine is strong and undamaged. NO BARCODE on the Sleeve which indicates this one was still a pretty early pressing.
Original Rounded Inner Sleeve: VG++
One bottom split of approx. 6-7 cm, a bit of yellowing from age. Otherwise Tops.
Extras: 2 Posters in NEAR MINT condition.
A beautiful and fantastic sounding early pressing. Highly recommended.

I pack my records professionally in stiff record mailers leaving the Vinyl (housed in Nagaoka anti-static bags) outside the Sleeve.
