Description
Hello, I'm selling off several very rare albums from my 38-year collecting habit to finance my medical bills. This 3-day auction is for this 6-VOLUME, 12-LP SET titled Pink Floyd "THE LIVE BIOGRAPHY SERIES" on International Records Label. These 12 LPs, manufactured in the late 1980's, chronicle the progression of Pink Floyd's career from their early beginnings in 1967 to their Ontario Concert in Canada on September 9, 1987. Recording quality is very good to excellent throughout the set.
I have been advised by a local record expert to sell each of these 6 albums separately to maximize the total sale price, but it took me almost 20 years to collect all six in the set and I just can't stand the thought of breaking them up. Hopefully, there's another huge Floyd fan out there with some deep pockets who can take care of me. Here's what you get:
Volume One: Point Me At The Sky - BBC Recordings from 1967 - 1969
Volume Two: Interstellar Overdrive - Studio and Concert Recordings from 1969 to 1971
Volume Three: On the Run - Concert Recordings from 1971 to 1974
Volume Four: Have A Cigar - Concert Recordings from Canada in 1975 and New York in 1977
Volume Five: In The Flesh - Concert Recording from Dortmund, Germany, 20th February, 1981
Volume Six: Yet Another Movie - Concert Recording from Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, 9th September, 1987
CONDITION: PLEASE READ CAREFULLY, THIS COLLECTION IS BEING SOLD AS IS WITH NO RETURNS; ASK ALL QUESTIONS BEFORE BIDDING!
Volume One: Cover - Excellent structurally but with some minor ring wear and minor scuffing on the back (see last pic). Vinyls - both are warped; they will not play properly with just a record clamp, but they play perfectly well on my VPI Scoutmaster with record clamp and ring clamp. I have made no attempt to remove the warp via amateur (300-degree oven between weights) or professional (use a de-warping machine or send to an expert) methods; that decision will be up to the winner.
Volume Two: Cover - Excellent structurally but with some minor ring wear front and back. Vinyls are pristine, but side 3 has lots of manufacturing "dimples" which may be tough for some tonearms and cartridges to track perfectly.
Volume Three: Cover - Near Mint! Vinyls - Pristine!
Volume Four: Cover - Near Mint! Vinyls - Pristine! The record labels in this volume were manufactured plain - no printing on them.
Volume Five: Cover - Excellent structurally but with very minor ring wear on front top. Vinyls - Pristine, but side 4 has a tiny manufacturing "bump" about 1/4" in from the dead wax that will probably cause your cartridge to skip.
Volume Six: Cover - Excellent structurally but with some ring wear on front and back. Vinyls - Pristine, but side 1 has a flawed edge (rough, from manufacturing) so be careful when sitting your stylus down on the record. The record labels in this volume were also manufactured plain - no printing on them.
SO HERE'S YOUR CHANCE, and I'm about 99.999% confident it will be your ONLY chance to find all six of these at one time. I paid between $40 and $100 each for them to collect the full set at a total price of $428. You do the math, then find a way....you will be one of the very rare collectors out there anywhere who has all six of these volumes, all 12 LPs. GOOD LUCK!
