Description
Pink Floyds L.P "Piper At The Gates Of Dawn, from 1967 on Columbia Records. This is a very early Mono first press cat number SX 6157,it has the flip back sleeve with the normal words "File Under Pop Groups"missing from the top right hand corner of the rear of the sleeve. This was omitted on only some of the earliest pressings so its very rare to find one in this lovely condition with a full money back guarantee with return postage,as with all my listings.
The matrix numbers are Side 1 XAX 3419-2 stamper 1M.
Side 2 XAX 3420-1 stamper 1G.
Condition of vinyl is rated VG++Excellent and is graded using the Rare Record Price Guides grading system. It looks good with a nice shine and plays very well, with only the normal minimal noise/clicks in the silent bits. The label has no writing or stickers and the spindle hole has some marks as per a record from 48 years ago. Please view all the photographs. There are some visible nail scratch marks that you cant feel and do not affect the play. The condition of the vinyl is very good to excellent, please read the grading system at the bottom of the listing.I only bother selling vinyl that looks good in normal light and plays well.Considering this album is 48 years old it is in remarkable condition for its age.Its a fantastic issue of this record and hard to find in this condition.
Condition of the sleeve is also rated VG/Excellent and has the normal signs of age and use. There is a coffee?mark to the bottom and a minor scuff to the bottom edge.Corners have the usual bumps. The spine is very good and not split, see photos. The original EMI inner sleeve has normal browning from age,and creases from age and use, there is a wear hole to the edge of inner. There is a small crease to the bottom right front, otherwise the laminate is still nice and shiny. This rare sleeve has been well kept and looked after by the last owner, whom I have purchased a large collection from, and will be listing in the coming weeks.
I will do combined postage for all UK and International postage, please email me before paying so that I can amend the invoice. All records posted with the appropriate thick stiffeners etc, please see my feedback for the quality of my posting and packaging.
VINYL GRADING FROM THE RARE RECORD PRICE GUIDE.
MINT ...The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The sleeve and other packaging is perfect, and records advertised as sealed or unplayed should be mint.
EXCELLENT ... The record shows signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.
VERY GOOD ... The record has obviously been played, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite some minor noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch/finger mark.Normal wear and tear on the cover, without major defects.
GOOD ... The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeable deterioration perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine, discoloration etc.
