So, after five decades of collecting vinyl and Hi-Fi, the time has finally come to downsize. Over the next few months, with great reluctance, I will be gradually selling off my treasured collection of records, cds and hi-fi equipment. It will take a while !!! For instant sale is a superb condition copy of a very early pressing of 'THE PIPER AT THE GATES OF DAWN' album from 1967 by PINK FLOYD. It is on the Colombia label and has the catalogue number SCX 6157 indicating that it is the stereo version. This is not the very first pressing because it has 'File Under Popular : Pop Groups' printed in the top right corner of the rear sleeve. A true first pressing would not have that statement on the sleeve. However, this is very close to a very first press and has the early matrix numbers YAX 3419-1 and YAX 3420-1 in the run-out grooves as well as the blue Colombia on the labels and the embossed KT tax code. The overall condition of both the sleeve and vinyl is at least excellent. It looks like it has hardly been played and would be a superb addition to any record collection. The sleeve is in at least excellent condition with hardly any marks or wear at all. However, there are a couple of light creases in the front lamination one of which you might be able to see in photo 11. The spine is sharp, clear and fully readable and the original company inner sleeve is also in excellent condition. Please study all the photos to see the condition for yourself. The labels are in excellent condition with hardly any 'spindle trails' indicating that the record has hardly been played. The record is also in really excellent condition and plays superbly in high quality with only occasional light surface noise and an occasional 'pop'. I think you would be hard-pressed to find a better example of this fine album. The album will be wrapped in bubblewrap before posting to ensure that it does not get damaged on its journey. I will dispatch it in a proper record mailer and will post within one working day of purchase by Special Delivery post so that it gets on its way to you as soon as possible. Although expensive, it does guarantee next-day delivery before 1pm and, most importantly, fully insures the record which is safer for you and for me.
