A very early 2U/2U/1U/3U pressing complete with the earliest inners and earliest cover (with the removable ‘sticker’) as follows:

• The one-piece gatefold cover has no band credits inside the gatefold.
• The round-cornered inner sleeves have just the numbers SHSP 4111 (1) and SHSP 4112 (1) (they do not have the numbers SHDW 4111 or OC 158 63410).

The whole thing is in outstanding condition and the vinyl has hardly ever been played.

Detailed description
Vinyl: The vinyl has retained its original sheen with almost nothing to see. In normal light the vinyl looks virtually flawless, and even under bright, direct light there is very little to see except for a few superficial hairlines on side two and some very slight sleeve-removal marks, but there is nothing of any significance and side four is virtually flawless even under bright light. I would grade all four sides between Excellent (Ex) and Near Mint (NM). Individually I would grade as follows: Side one = Excellent plus (Ex+), Side two = Excellent (Ex), Side three = Excellent Plus (Ex+), Side four = Near Mint (NM). This is an exceptional example and I think it would be very hard to find one much better than this.
Labels: All four labels look superb with absolutely no signs of damage, writing, stickers etc. Judging by the number of spindle marks on the labels I would say that the vinyl may only have ever been played once (but please note that the spindle marking on the side two label shows that the record was moved around quite alot on the spindle before actually slipping in to the hole, but even so, I think it's probably only a single play).
Cover: The cover is really nice and clean with no damage, writing, splits, tears or stickers etc and just very light signs of age or use. Please look at the photos.
Cover 'sticker': The removable 'sticker' (not actually a sticker; it clings by static) has no significant issues, but it doesn't adhere very well.
Inner sleeves: Both are in great condition with only very light signs of handling etc. One has a small, neat motion split at the bottom seam, but that's all!

Where gradings are given these are based on the UK Record Collector grading system (see below) and are visual gradings only, unless the listing specifically states that it is a play-grading.

I use the UK RECORD COLLECTOR GRADING SYSTEM. This grading system differs from some other grading systems, in particular the Goldmine grading system. Please make sure that you are familiar with the UK record collector grading system before you bid.

Mint: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.

Excellent: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packag­ing might have slight wear and/or creasing.

Very Good: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable sur­face marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

Good: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.

Fair: The record is still just playable but has not been cared for prop­erly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.

Poor: The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

Bad: The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.

Plus (+) or Minus (-) are added where items fall between gradings. I only ever use one plus or minus.
