I believe this 12-inch 33 RPM LP is a bootleg, so let's start there. The cover is a marriage of a plain red record sleeve with printed labels scotch taped to the front and back. The front label identifies the record as "Take Linda Surfin'" by Pink Floyd, and the back label identifies it as Wizardo Rekords No. WR-007, containing "A Saucerful of Secrets" on Side 1, and "Atom Heart Mother" on the other. It further identifies the music as having been recorded at a concert in London in early 1970. Oh, and the scotch tape is so old it's literally falling off.
On the record, the GLC (Great Live Concerts) labels are dated 1981 and identify the record as No. 6012-4299, but offer no track lists or artist credits. In addition, both labels are labeled "Side 2," although the etched matrix numbers (LIND 1 and LIND 2) help identify which side is really which. Content-wise, the sleeve is absolutely correct - "A Saucerful of Secrets" is on Side 1, and "Atom Heart Mother" on the other.
The record is in unfortunately unplayable condition, due to what appear to be manufacturing defects in the form of several tiny little "bone spurs" sticking up from the vinyl surface. With two or three of them, it looks like someone tried to perform microsurgery on them with a sharp object like a finger-nail or a knife blade. Quite honestly, I doubt if it helped at all, in fact it probably made it worse.
I remember both sides jumping or repeating multiple times on my old Bang and Olufsen turntable, so I tested them instead on my even older Garrard, which has a higher needle weight and therefore tends to be a bit more reliable about staying in the grooves. And it still wasn't a huge success. "A Saucerful of Secrets" played almost to the end without repeating, then started sticking as it worked toward its final crescendo. The needle navigated the other manufacturing bumps with just a series of loud clicks. "Atom Heart Mother" was considerably worse - I'd have to say it stuck and repeated four or five times, although the needle finally worked its way through a couple of them without me having to lift it over the obstruction.
Sadly, once again, we have a rare record in atrocious condition. Because of variations in tracking ability, filtering technology and needle weights, I can offer no guarantees as to how well it will play on your equipment.
