OTHER :  Original first Japan press of great Pink Floyd 1973 album. Gatefold sleeve, OBI and 32-page photo and text/photo booklet, mostly in Japanese. Price ¥2000 printed on the OBI and gatefold – that is reliable sign of the first Japanese press (please see photos). NO POSTERS, NO DOUBLE SIDED CARD, but very beautiful shining vinyl with Solid Blue Prism on the Labels.

DETAILED CONDITION:

VINYL :  Near Mint. Shining clear vinyl. I cannot call it 'mint' just because I call ‘mint’ only the still sealed copies.

LABELS :  Near Mint

OUTER SLEEVE :  Very Good +++. The gatefold is still shiny, but there are slight scuffs, slight ring wear, wear along the gluing line of the sleeve and a few lines after impressions. There is a bump sign in the right lower edge of the gatefold sleeve with an area about 1 square cm (please see photo).

OBI: Excellent Minus.  Brown spotting, bends and very small tear along the upper edge

32-PAGE BOOKLET :  Excellent Minus. Slight brown spot on the front, one thin scratch on the back, a few bends and a traces of touching. No tears or writings.

GRADING 

I only grade as mint where the record is brand new and sealed with no visible damage to the sleeve. 

Near Mint (NM):

Sleeve: Will only show very minor signs of storage/handling wear. It may have slight corner bumps/rub, ringwear and maybe very minor creasing. It will have no rips or splits.

Record: Will be in a new like condition. Very Clean. It may have very, very minor defects such as no more than a couple of very light wispy hairlines and a couple of spindle trails around the centre holes. Basically a record in NM condition will look like you have just got it back from the record shop or at worse only had a couple of plays.

Excellent (EX):

Sleeve: As NM but the signs of wear will become a little more pronounced. There may be signs of stress at the seams maybe the beginnings of a split. It may have a cut out hole indicating that it was taken out of print. There may be a little graffiti on the sleeve or label.

Record: Will show signs of play but has been well looked after by the previous owner. It may show a few more light marks/scuffs than a NM. These marks won't be deep enough to be felt. There may be the odd click or crackle upon playback. Slight warps are that don't effect the sound are OK. 

Very Good (VG): 

Sleeve: A VG sleeve will have many of the defects found in a EX but more pronounced. Seam splits may be more obvious or may be taped or show residue. There may be small rips. It may show some age/handling discolouration. Laminate may be bubbled, may be marred with writing. 

Record: Wear and defects will be more obvious with marks/scuffs deep enough to feel with a fingernail. Groove wear will be more noticeable. Sound deterioration and surface noise will become more likely especially during quieter passages.
