PINK FLOYD The Dark Side Of The Moon UK LP A3 B3 + 1 Poster Nice EX!!



PINK FLOYD The Dark Side Of The Moon.  EMI SHVL 804.  Released 1973.
 
This is an early copy with A3 B3 Matrix and is in very nice condition throughout. It comes with one of the original posters (The band poster).  There is an interesting hand written note on the inner sleeve which gives the title of the LP and the date 10/6/74, which was presumably added by the original owner, giving it a nice authentic touch.
 
Detailed Grading: -
 
Outer Sleeve: EX
 
The gatefold outer sleeve is graded EX.  The front and rear covers are in nice condition.  There isn’t any significant wear and the colours have remained nice and strong, with no real fading or discolouration caused by rubbing, which can often happen with this sleeve. The bottom left corner has some damage in the form of some small creases where it has been “dinged” at some point in the past and there are one or two example of mild wear elsewhere, but on balance despite the corner dent, it is a really clean example.  This gatefold sleeve opens on one side only.
 
Vinyl: EX to EX+
 
The Vinyl is graded between EX and EX+.  It shows only light signs of use with a generally light amount of fine hairlines.  None of the hairlines are deep or worrying and those that are visible I would say are purely the result of the LP having been removed from its paper inner sleeve.   A nice copy which is far above an average condition for such an early pressing of this LP.
 
 
Vinyl playback.  This LP was play tested throughout and gave a stunning and dynamic performance.  It played very clearly with very little in the way of notable background noise,  giving a really dynamic and clear performance.

Labels: EX+
 
The Labels are in EX+ condition. Very clean and unmarked.  There is a very tiny amount of small and light spindle marks that can been seen under bright halogen light.
 
Inner Sleeve:  EX+
 
The generic white inner sleeve is in EX+ condition, very clean and undamaged and as noted above has “The Dark Side Of The Moon 10/6/74” written very neatly along one of the side seems.  This is a nice addition.
 
Extras : EX-
 
Only one poster is included, this being the Pink Floyd band poster. This poster is generally uncreased and is in nice shape.  It has some brown marks at the edge in a number of places, where it has been stuck down with an adhesive tape at some point.  This is noticeable but doesn’t detract too much from the overall condition.    
 
Really nice early copy with early A 3 B 3 matrix
 
Postage and Packing:
 
All records are placed in a separate poly lined inner and stored flat outside the sleeve and then placed sealed in a re-sealable polythene outer prior to shipping.  Records are then placed between square cardboard sheets before packaging into cruciform mailers especially designed for LP’s. These mailers are a high-grade type which reinforce the edges around the LP and as such they are larger and weigh more than standard mailers.  My postage costs reflect the additional size and weight of the packaging that I use.
