Pink Floyd ** 33 1/3 rpm ** RARE ** with OBI strip

Items in this lot are:
  • The Dark side of the moon -- Label: EMI PRO USE SERIES -- Record#: stereo EMLF-97002

Special note to foreign bidders: I declare foreign shipments as merchandise with the value you bid for them. Shipment to foreign buyers is via priority mail international with insurance for the value bid. Please e-mail for shipping costs before bidding as this method costs more, but is insurable and trackable. Example: United Kingdom 1-2 pounds $45.85 + $2.00 box/tape/pack = $47.85.

Import duties, taxes and charges are not included in the item price or shipping charges. These charges are the buyer's responsibility. Please check with your country's customs office to determine what these additional costs will be prior to bidding/buying.

Alternatively, if the ending winning bid is less than $50 and if you have perfect feedback and want this shipped first class international, it could be shipped that method with the understanding there is NO REFUND FOR ANY REASON since the item cannot be tracked online or insured. Example: United Kingdom 1-2 pounds $22.30 + $2.00 = $24.30.

Feedback/bidding policy: I check feedback daily and will return feedback promptly. Although I go to great lengths to accurately describe my items, if you feel the merchandise is not as described, e-mail me BEFORE leaving feedback and we will resolve it. Please note I do allow returns (see return policy below).

Description: Up for your consideration is the next in a series of unique Lps, this one featuring Pink Floyd.

Several unique things about this item: Firstly, the record retains the original shine with a very short light mark on the last 1/8" of the last track of side 1 grading by sight in normal room light. I'm sure if you took this and put it under a 1000 watt bulb, you'd probably find something that makes it less than mint. If you're that kind of collector, and after a recent unpleasant experience with a buyer from Malaysia, let me suggest this auction is not for you.

I don't claim this record is mint. Based on past experience and visual examination, I'd expect the tracks to audibly average at least half way between VG+(excellent) and Near Mint. If you want an audio grade of the entire LP, no problem, just drop me a note well in advance of the end of auction.
If an audio grade is given, you can assign your own grade based on my comments and the scale shown below.

Secondly, the album is an EMI PRO USE Series version with the OBI strip (see scan).

Thirdly, at the time of this listing, four current listings from $149 to $249.

So this is your chance to own a unique item at a reasonable price. Bid early and often so you don't miss out on this auction!

It is further described below, please take the time to read before bidding.

Please e-mail if questions.

Be sure to check my other listings to save postage on multiple winning bids. Please explore the "me" link next to feedback rating) to check out my store and some of the 15,000+ records I have for sale as well as the LP to CD transfer service I offer.

I am using the Goldmine scale of G=Good(1), VG = Very Good(2), VG+ = Very Good Plus(excellent)(3), NM = Near Mint(4) when grading the disc(s).

Here is a summary of the record(s):

Artist: Pink Floyd Title: The dark side of the moon Record: Black vinyl with original shine, a short light mark on the last 1/8" of the last track of side 1, grading by sight in normal room light. Labels: Tan with reddish EMI in larger print and mostly black print. No stickers, no pen/pencil marks, a few spindle marks. Trailing wax: Side 1: "SHVL-804 A-H 1S". Side 2: "SHVL-804-B-H 1S". Inner sleeve: A clear, plastic inner sleeve rounded on one edge. Comes with a 4-page insert with mostly Japanese print. Cover: Gatefold cover (it opens up). Corners with up to slight/moderate wear. Slight general/ring wear front/back. No stickers, no pen/pencil marks, no seam splits. The cover has the OBI strip. It is slightly folded on the front upper right portion (see scan). I was able to peek underneath it and was able to see the folded part, but I hesitate to try to unfold it for fear of tearing. A short 1/4" closed tear in the OBi strip on the top front right edge(see scan). Rate the cover VG to VG+(excellent). Comments: Based on past experience and visual examination, I'd expect the tracks to average at least half way between VG+(excellent) and Near Mint. If an audio grade is provided (Please request well in advance of the end of auction), you can assign your own grade based on my comments and the scale shown below. An excellent and unusual addition to your LP collection. Side 1: Comments: Speak to me / Breathe in the air Audio grade provided upon request On the run Audio grade provided upon request Time Audio grade provided upon request The great gig in the sky Audio grade provided upon request Side 2: Comments: Money Audio grade provided upon request Us and them Audio grade provided upon request Any colour you like Audio grade provided upon request Brain damage Audio grade provided upon request Eclipse Audio grade provided upon request

Additional criteria I use when audibly grading records for people:

  • NM(4) = absolutely nothing wrong at all (very rarely happens--I've even opened sealed records and they don't play Near Mint)
  • 3.5-3.9 = very, very light surface noise
  • 3.1-3.4 = very light surface noise, very light pops
  • VG+(3) = up to light pops and light surface noise (below this, one's enjoyment is affected, very subjective)
  • VG(2) = up to medium pops and moderate surface noise
  • G(1) = up to heavy pops and heavy surface noise

I normally ship Lp's in 14"x14"x6" boxes padded in styrofoam. Weight with box is about 2 pound 5 oz. Shipping is: $2.98 Media Rate (1-2 pounds) + $2.10 box/tape/packing + $.90 delivery confirmation = $5.98.

Buyer pays shipping/handling. Standard method within U.S. is Media Rate, $4.00 This includes delivery confirmation which enables you to track shipping of your package online. Outside U.S., e-mail location to determine S/H costs prior to auction end. Insurance / other methods of shipping cost extra. Payment received within ten days of auction ending. Payment via Paypal preferred.

Thanks for stopping by and good luck with the bidding!
