Description
PINK FLOYD The Piper At The Gates Of Dawn ORIGINAL PRESS MONO SX 6157 COLUMBIA
Columbia SX 6157
MONO
Matrix: XAX 3419 - 2 // XAX 3420 - 1
This is the very rare and sought after mono first pressing of Pink Floyd's debut album. Almost every 'first pressing' copy I have seen sell on ebay is in fact a second pressing as it has the 'File under popular' text on the rear top flipback, which this copy does not have, indicating a very rare genuine first pressing.
Sleeve is in very good condition overall with general storage wear and marks, some creasing and slight laminate lift visible. Top and bottom edges have slightly worn through in the middle, to the width of around 3-4cm, this can be seen in pictures. Owner has written name on the top left of the back cover and inside of the sleeve as shown in pictures. Spine is in great condition. VG
Vinyl is in very good condition overall, with light surface marks not deep enough to feel with fingers. Plays through perfectly and sounds fantastic with just a bit of occasional low level noise in very quiet sections. VG
Please ask for any further information about this item, glad to answer any questions you may have.
BUYERS OUTSIDE OFUK PLEASE AWAIT UPDATED INVOICE BEFORE PAYING THANK YOU!
About This Sale
I am selling some gems from my father’s huge vinyl collection as he has decidedto sell most of it after around 60 years of collecting. It’s important to usthat these amazing records go to a good home and that the people that buy themare happy with their purchase, as such I’ve been as accurate as I can in thedescription and photographs, and have used the Record Collector Grading System(see below) to honestly grade each album. In the case of Buy It Now listings,we’ve set the price based on research of sales from dealers, plus sales oneBay, Amazon and Discogs. We’ve then taken a little off the price to becompetitive!
Please check out my other listings for good deals on rare albums. I’ll beupdating the list as I sort through the collection, so check back regularly.
I have scoured the internet for the best LP mailers I could find and settled onthe CLP Bukwrap mailers which are described as ‘indestructible vinyl record mailers’, so each item will be packedin these with the record between the paper sleeve and the cover inside anenclosing heavy duty plastic wallet as per best mailing practice. Theseparticular mailers can take up to 6 albums, so bulk postage discount isavailable for more than one purchase. Please message me for details on this.
Due to the majority of the records I’m selling being quite rare, I’ll only sendtracked and signed delivery to ensure your purchase gets to you safely and ontime, and so that we’re both covered in the unlikely event of loss/damage.
