For sale here is a super copy of Pink Floyds iconic "The Wall" album. Comes with all the attributes of an original first UK pressing:- Bricks not aligned to the bottom of the cover. Matrices are A2  B3  A1  B2 (the 8th earliest recorded) Rounded corner 9" notched inner sleeves. No band credits inside gatefold cover. Vinyl hype transfer is present. Inner sleeve cat detail on single line, NOT 3 high, as per earliest copies.
Also I am selling this with an extremely rare and original full page advert for the album from the New Musical Express music paper from the era, dated December 1979
This album was originally bought on day of issue by a collector friend who played it twice. Did not really like it very much, so it has sat in a cupboard for over 40 years before he sold it on to me. Great and also quite unusual to find an example in this superb condition. No real evidence of play. The vinyl surfaces are jet black and almost mirror finished. No spindle trails, scratches, scuffs or anything worthy of note. The odd wispy sleeve removal mark. Will be sent out in a new heavy duty polythene outer sleeve and a new anti-static inner sleeve, all in the price.
I will give a detailed description of each part, including play grading.
Mother and stamper information............. Side one........... 2  GM. Side two..........  1  ??. Side three......  2  GG. Side four........  2  MG. These are REALLY early combinations.     The cover:                  Original and genuine creamy white brick cover. Bricks not fully aligned to the bottom edge. Purple brick outline. The only comment worthy of mention is the slightest discolouration around the spine. An almost perfect example with no grubby marks. There is no shelf-wear to top or bottom edges. Spine is perfect.  That's it! Conservative grading (and I do mean conservative) is a healthy Ex. I would expect the winner to be pretty pleased with this cover and its grading.
Inner sleeves:                      Really nice examples of the heavy card sleeves. Why oh why they put vinyl into these I will never know! Still, the vinyl sits in new anti-static inner sleeves now. The catalogue numbers are in a single line, as per early 1st press. Both have "thinned" slightly at the bottom edge from wear by the disc edge. No breakthrough, but thinning. Very very clean pair. No marking or stains. I grade the inner sleeves as a strong Ex.
The labels:                  The labels are all as good as you could hope to find. I can see 2 spindle trails on one label, 1 on another and none on the other 2. Almost no evidence of play. In superb condition. I grade the labels as Ex+.
The vinyl (visual):                             Really the vinyl is the cherry on the top of this copy. I have been lucky enough to own many of the first pressings over many years of collecting, but rarely have I seen one as clean as this. I seriously can find nothing but a couple of tiny wispy marks, but nothing that affects the audio presentation in any way.. As this is a visual appraisal, I grade as a solid Ex+.
The vinyl (play-grade):                                      All 4 sides of this album play superbly well with great depth and clarity. There is so little to mention. A very isolated dust "pop" and sometimes a second or two of light background rustle at the start of a track. There are no skips or sticks, no repeat clicks or pops. Sometimes it takes on an almost CD quality silence, apart from that rich warm vinyl sound, so unmistakeable. I can really do no more than grade the audio performance as Ex+.
As previously stated, the original NME full page advert is included in the sale. This is in really great condition, with just a wrinkle in the top left corner. A great piece of musical history to keep with this lovely vinyl. 


As a complete and original first UK pressing with the A2 / B3 / A1 / B2 matrix numbers, correct detailing on gatefold cover and inner sleeves, I really have to grade overall as at least excellent. Somebody is going to be very happy!!

All vinyl is packed outside of the cover and 2 stiffeners are used in transit. I have sold many valuable vinyls over the years and am often credited with Fort Knox style packing.
