Here is a beautiful NM/NM first pressing of Pink Floyd's album THE WALL on UK Harvest. This has the first pressing stamper/master numbers as follows (side one through four): A-3U/B-2U/ A -3U/ B-2U. This has all the correct cover & inner sleeve variations to designate it as a true first pressing--very rare and this one is a beauty. Promotional Release: Some promotional copies of this album were sent out with blank white labels and a blank white cover.
Description: Gatefold cover.
Cover Sticker: Issued with a transparent sticker on the front cover that says (in black Scarfe lettering): "Pink Floyd The Wall."
Front Cover: A brick wall. The Wall is actually cream colored, not true white, with the brick outlines in purple. The cover is made from a single sheet of wrap-around cardboard, and is of a thicker cardboard than on later printings. The bricks on the front cover are not aligned right to the bottom of the cover.
Back Cover: There is no scancode on the back cover.
Inside Cover: The credits on the inside cover do not list the members of Pink Floyd. It only says "Words and Music - Roger Waters."
Inner Sleeves: Heavy cardboard inner sleeves with rounded corners and a nine-inch thumb notch. Original pressings have just the catalog number of the specific record listed in the lower right corner of the inner sleeve, whereas later pressings have the catalog number of the album, pressing, and record in the lower right corner.
Label: Picture label.
Text around the top edge of the label starts at 7 o'clock and says:
All rights of the manufacturer and of the owner of the recorded work reserved. Unauthorized public performance, broadcasting and copying of this record prohibited. Made in Great Britain. EMI Records (U.K.)
(no sticker on this cover, which I prefer, as most were crooked.) Whew. This is it--a true beauty. Check my other auctions--I'm going to be listing many very rare records and some truly collectible posters & music memorabilia this week !
