Ummagumma is a progressive/psychedelic rock double album by Pink Floyd, released in 1969. The first disc is a live album of their normal setlist of the time, while the second one contains individual compositions by each member of the band.!!!!
Ummagumma is a double album. One disc was recorded live at Mothers Club, Birmingham, on 27 April 1969 and the following week at Manchester College of Commerce, on 2 May 1969; the other included four solo segments, one half-side of vinyl each by Richard Wright, Roger Waters, David Gilmour, and Nick Mason!!!.
The album was released in the UK on 25 October 1969 and then in the U.S. on 10 November 1969. The album reached #5 on the UK album charts and #74 on the US album charts, marking the first time the band reached the top 100 in the U.S. The album was certified Gold in the U.S. in February 1974 and Platinum in March 1994. In 1987, the album was re-released on a two CD set. A digitally re-mastered version was released in 1994 in the UK and 1995 in the US. Neither CD release includes the picture of Waters's first wife, which had appeared on the inner-gatefold sleeve of the original vinyl issue!!!.
The cover of the original LP varies between the British (and Canadian) and American releases. The British version has the album Gigi leaning against the wall immediately above the 'Pink Floyd' letters. On the original American album version, however, this was airbrushed to a plain white sleeve, apparently because of copyright concerns (though the Gigi cover appears in U.S. CD version's booklet). Inside the cover is a picture of David Gilmour in front of the Elfin Oak. Nick Mason came up with the idea for the rear cover, which shows the band's equipment laid out on a runway at Biggin Hill Airfield in Kent, the south of England!!!!.

The Vinyl's
On initial inspection both vinyls look awesome!,still retaining their original sheen from new!!Both lay perfectly flat on the turntable! Please note! These are made of the heavy thick and chunky slabs of vinyl that can only be found on the earliest press! The audio reproduction can not be surpassed by the later much flimsier type of vinyl!!
Please note! I have played both vinyls prior to listing on a top! system at very loud volume! It is important to note that I have given my honest opinion on the audio as i hear it! I follow (no) codes or practices other than my personal opinion on the audio quality!, and my grades are my own personal opinion! Graded each, side by side!!! I would class myself as highly critical!,, please look at my completed listings of records that I have sold of this calaber and you will find that i normally get it right!!!

side 2. Visually graded Excellent\ excellent plus (shdw1) Audio graded excellent! The vinyl lays perfectly flat on the turntable! Plays through cristal clear and vibrant through out (no) grooveware or that this has been overplayed at all . In strong light there are (very) few surface marks\scuffs mainly only sleeve removal evident angled in light. It is very very hard to see any marks at all! Visually I can't see any needle scratches at least even between tracks and silent places (in which there are many) background noise is minimal superbe awesome audioThis played through absolutely awesome throughout with (no) noticable loud clicks or pops extreemely minimal background noise that i heard at all !!(very) light static crackle (not) consistant throughout the audio!!! !!!Please note! I heard some\perhapes a handful of static ticks (in fact four!) during the 1st quiet track ''Set The Controlls For the heart of the Sun'' and the odd intermitant tick here and there but nothing in my opinion that spoilt the overall audio experiance! !!Audio is rated at the top!!!! This will be hard to surpass!!!!
side 3. (shdw2.) graded Excellent plus The vinyl lays perfectly flat on the turntable! Plays through cristal clear and vibrant through out (no) grooveware or that this has been overplayed at all . In strong light there are very few surface marks\scuffs It is very very hard to see any at all! (no) deep needle scratches at least (no) (none) audio sounding even between tracks and background noise is minimal superbe awesome audioThis played through absolutely awesome throughout with (no) noticable clicks or pops very minimal background noise that i heard at all !!(very) light static crackle (not) consistant throughout the audio!!! !!!!!Audio is rated at the top!!!! side 4. Visually graded as Excellent\excellent plus(shdw2) Audio graded as excellent plus! The vinyl lays perfectly flat on the turntable! Plays through cristal clear and vibrant through out (no) grooveware or that this has been overplayed at all . In strong light there are very few surface marks\scuffs that can possibly be seen. It is very very hard to see any at all! This will be hard to surpass!!!!
To sum up the audio! Any who know this album would appreciate that there are many many quiet places during the play. The audio quality is truly awesome all on all four sides with no distortion and is clear and very very vibrant with superbe seperation! Static ticks and crackle can be heard in some quiet places not consistant through out the audio! having said that this is the best that i have heard of this pressing in general absolutely stunning audio quality throughout!!RATED AT THE TOP!!
Please note! I always add this disclaimer! I have given my honest opinion on the audio quality as I hear it! I would class myself as highly critical! Please alow for some light static crackle (not consistant throughout the audio) Please remember that these are genuine 39 year old vinyls that would have originally been played on a 39 year old system!!!
An important note! These vinyls have been stored in a case laying dormant for at least 25 years or more! These would benefit from a constant clean before each play! Build up of dirt and dust in the grooves cause static crackle and from my personal experiance a constant clean reduces this and greatly enhances the audio quality!!!!!
