Description
Pink Floyd 'Wish You Were Here' 1975 UK vinyl album on the Harvest picture label, catalogue number SHVL 814 (stereo)
Based on 'The Pink Floyd Discographies' I think this may be a UK second issue but I cannot be sure so bidders should decide for themselves from the following information.
The numbers and letters stamped on the vinyl are:- Side 1: SHVL A-6 5 (this 5 is positioned at 9 o'clock) HTM (these last 3 letters are hand etched) Side 2: SHVL 814 B-14 6 (this 6 follows the 14 but there's also another number, may be 1, crossed out between the 14 and the 6) HTM (these last 3 letters are hand etched)
This is a medium weight vinyl and it is not warped. Both side of the record look almost as new, I cannot see any marks or scratches at all when viewed normally under a bright light. There may be a few wispy lines caused by removal from the inner sleeve, but nothing that has any affect on the audio that I can hear. The vinyl appears to have been unplayed before I listened to it today and I would describe the audio as 'near mint' although I am grading it as 'excellent+' to cater for those who may have more demanding expectations than me!
The track titles can be seen on the label photographs, the labels are in near perfect condition - no spindle lines that I can see.
The cover is a standard single sleeve, most of which is covered in black shrink wrap with a circular sticker on the front. The shrink wrap is perforated with small holes from new to allow the cover to 'breathe' (and prevent damp) and it has been carefully cut open down the entry edge to remove the contents. I cannot say what the condition is of the part of the cover I cannot see - which is most of it - but as it has never been removed from the shrink wrap, I presume it is as new. The open edge, that I can see, has just three small dents but is otherwise as new. The shrink wrap is fully intact and in perfect condition except where it has been cut to open. The circular sticker is in as new condition, but seems to have been stuck on upside down!
The thin card 'square cut' printed inner sleeve with a small arc shape cut away at the entry edge is fully intact in as new condition - no damage, no seam splits.
The postcard insert of the diving man with straight cut edges is also almost as new, with postcard layout at the back and small printing detail in the top left corner, but it has not been used or written on in any way.
I have checked the Record Collector grading system and I would say that every part of this album is at least 'excellent+' and it is quite possible that many may regard it as 'near mint'.
I have described this as carefully and honestly as possible, but it is a no return item so please bid accordingly.
It will be packed in a strong record mailing box with two pieces of card inside for further protection.
