An increasingly rare first pressing of this Pink Floyd classic with excellent audio quality. Note the 1st pressing "A-1" matrix; also the slightly more heavyweight vinyl,  the die cut inner sleeve with lyrics with 3 corners cut and the left hand bottom corner uncut, and the nipped ends of the outer sleeve spine - all indicative of, and unique to, first pressings.

Both sides of the vinyl have a nice lacquered sheen and the vinyl grooves remain perfectly defined. The vinyl is totally flat and has an excellent appearance. Held in a bright light, and at the correct angle, it is then possible to detect a number of wispy hairlines and pencil line thin scuffs - no scratches and certainly nothing below the surface.  EXCELLENT-

The labels are almost perfect,..the only "blemish" being the faintest trace of a couple of spindle lines adjacent to the centre hole on each side - you will need to search really hard to locate them! NEAR MINT!

The non-laminated outer gatefold sleeve is excellent-. All of the edges and corners are well defined, including the spine, and all of the colours have retained their rich vibrancy. There is a little discolouration and a hint of "grubbiness", however, along with some mild surface creasing towards the rear bottom right hand corner and the bottom left hand corner is slightly compressed. VERY GOOD

 The inner sleeve (containing the lyrics) is excellent-. The thumb notch opening top edge and three cut corners with the left hand bottom corner uncut - again 1st pressing only variants - are excellent. No creasing and all lyrics perfectly legible but there is a 4cm and 6 cm seam split on the bottom and left edge respectively.

The audio quality is overall excellent. Beautiful tone and clarity on both sides with no clicks, pops, skips, and just some very mild and occasional background crackle/interference during some quieter moments but with slightly more pronounced crackle leading up to and including the first few bars of the first track on each side. Each time I clean the vinyl this introductory background interference diminishes, so I am putting this down to dust in the grooves through years and years of storage.

And, of course, this copy would not be complete without the "diving man" postcard (with the rarer cerrated edges), and it comes in pristine unmarked condition.

An overall excellent- copy of this classic prog rock album - Floyd at their wonderful best. There are some minor blemishes, as detailed above, but overall an impressive and increasingly rare and sought after copy.

I DO take great care in minimising all risk thereby ensuring, as far as possible, that your purchase reaches it's destination in exactly the same condition as when I post it. Mint

Description: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.

Excellent

Description: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packag­ing might have slight wear and/or creasing.

Very Good

Description: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable sur­face marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

Good

Description: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.

Fair 

Description: The record is still just playable but has not been cared for prop­erly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.

Poor

Description: The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

Bad

Description: The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.
