Description
Pink Floyd – Wish You Were Here (EMI Harvest SHVL 814), a very nice, first pressing of the classic No. 1 album from 1975. Bookended by the epic ‘Shine On You Crazy Diamond Parts 1-9’, Roger Waters’ sorrowful tribute to the band’s founder, Syd Barrett, ‘Wish You Were Here’ is one of Pink Floyd’s finest albums, and one of the very best of the progressive era. Featuring the all-pervading melancholy of David Gilmour’s stunning guitar, and the late Richard Wright’s beautiful, haunting keyboards, this is a band at the very height of their powers, making ‘Wish You Were Here’ an essential album.
This is an original first pressing of the LP, with the matrix numbers A – 1 on Side 1, and B – 3 on Side 2. The vinyl is in excellent condition, with no scratches, and barely a crackle to be heard, ensuring a lovely, crisp, clean sound. Despite some very slight wear, the sleeves are also in great condition: the record still retains the original black shrink wrap in which it was sold, although this has naturally been opened; the inner sleeve features the original ‘clipped’ corners, rather than the later rounded corners; the record also comes complete with a postcard with a serrated edge, again in wonderful condition. On the whole, this is a beautiful copy of this much-sought after album, and this is an excellent opportunity to get your hands on such a rare item.
