Description
Over the next few weeks and months I will be listing a quite lovely collection of Pink Floyd albums. This lot of 5 Floyd albums cover releases from 1969 to 1977. These have been sat in a cupboard for too many years to remember. Clear out time!
These should all be decent playing copies, some will be of excellent quality. They will include some UK 1st pressings, and if not they will be extremely early pressings. All matrix/mother/stamper combinations will be listed (so long as they are readable!) so you can tell exactly what you are bidding on. All gradings are by visual examination unless specifically mentioned, strictly to record collector guidelines.
So here we have some of Floyds work from the late 1960's to late 1970's.
DARK SIDE OF THE MOON, WISH YOU WERE HERE, MEDDLE, ANIMALS and RELICS.
Wish you were here:- Released in 1975. This iconic album is in a quite lovely condition. Matrices are A1 / B5, mothers/stampers are 4 MOA & 2 GLG so a UK first pressing. The cover is very clean, pinched spine. Unusual for this album as the cover is prone to dirt and marking. The inner sleeve is also very clean, but has a slit to a side edge from disc edge. Missing the postcard. The vinyl visually is in great shape with no marking worthy of note, just the expected cosmetic hairlines. THIS HAS BEEN PLAY-GRADED AS FOLLOWS. Side one starts almost silently. Plays with NO issues. Nice detail and clarity. Side two also starts really well. Some light surface noise right at the start of the title track. Overall a really nice playing copy and conservatively graded. Grade cover as Ex-, inner as VG+ and vinyl visually as Ex- and play-graded a strong VG+
Dark side of the moon:- The bands most iconic album. UK early pressing. This has NOT been play-graded. Matrices are A5 B5. Mothers/stampers are 3 TG & 4 RM. Cover has a blue tint as per 1st press copies (I have no idea why this has a first pressing cover?). Very solid but has light general handling wear. Grades VG. Inner sleeve is generic white, non original, excellent condition. The 2 posters which are included are the originals. Have some wear and holes starting to form within the folded joints. Grade VG. The vinyl has marks. It looks as if it has been cleaned with some kind of cloth over the years, causing multiple swirly hairlines and a general dullness to the lacquered finish. No feelable marking, but only visually grades as good. How much a good clean would benefit this is anyone's guess. Grades G+.
Animals:- From 1977, this is a 1st UK pressing. Matrices are A2 B5. Mother stampers are 1 RMD & 1 RDO. This has been play-graded. Cover is a bit ragged. Shelf-wear to edges and spine. Some light creasing, disc impression forming and general handling wear. Grades G+ as very solid. The inner sleeve is original. Again, handling wear and light creasing. No slits to edges. Grades VG. The vinyl visually is pretty good. One light (non-feelable) mark on side one and a few cosmetic hairlines. Visual grade is VG. THIS HAS BEEN PLAY-GRADED AS FOLLOWS. Side one has a single dust "pop" at the start. Some background surface noise at start of track 2 and 3 random dust "pops" during the track. Side two has 2 pops at the start of "Sheep". Over the whole disc there are odd spots of very light background in some quieter passages. Grades a solid VG+.
Meddle:- UK first pressing. Matrices are A4 B3. Mothers/stampers are 1 AA & 2AM, so quite an early pressing. This has NOT been play-graded. Cover is in great shape. Textured to outer faces only. Very light storage wear. A really nice solid example. Grades a strong VG+. Inner sleeve is generic white, die-cut. Discoloured and creased. Grades G+. Vinyl visually is really clean, with no marks of concern. I would expect this to play without any major issues. As a visual based grading, Ex.
Relics:- UK first pressing. Matrices are A1 B2. Mothers/stampers are 2 MT & ? MO. I cannot make out the mother stamp on side 2. This has NOT been play-graded. The cover has survived really well from 1971! Very very clean with a hint of age discolouration. No storage wear or damage. Grades a solid Ex. The inner sleeve is correct and original. Generic white, die-cut. Discoloured from age, no rips slits or tears. Grades as Ex-. The vinyl is quite stunningly glossy and looks barely played. No marks worth mentioning. As a visual grading only, this is a very solid Ex.
Some great material on these albums. From the early material from the late 60's to the classic albums from the 70's, this little collection spans some of Floyds best work. Not all at their best, but these should play just fine and are better than just fillers for a collection. Having said that, I'm not sure on DSOTM visually, but it does have a 1st press cover and its original posters.
All albums will be housed in a brand new heavy duty polythene cover. All vinyl's will be housed in a new anti-static inner sleeve. I pack my albums for transit in the most secure packaging imaginable and send 48 hour delivery with The Royal Mail. I only charge exactly what it costs me, sometimes less!
I accept returns if I am notified as soon as possible after you receive the album. This has to be due to it being wrongly described. Not just for a change of mind. I take the time to provide quality photographs of the album, along with a detailed description, so please respect this.
I will post overseas, but not to Russia, Belarus, Mexico or Ukraine. I will cancel any bids from these countries. I will be using Ebays "Global Shipping Programme" for overseas sales. It is not the cheapest method, but does cover all import duties and taxes plus full insurance.
If you have any questions, or require more photos, just let me know.
Many excellent Floyd titles still to be listed (over 150), so please keep an eye out for my future sales.
Good luck if you decide to bid.
