Pink Floyd's ninth studio album and one of the most emotionally direct records in the rock canon.
Recorded at Abbey Road in 1975, Wish You Were Here is a meditation on absence, disillusionment, and the cost of the music industry — anchored by the band's grief over the deterioration of founding member Syd Barrett.
The album opens and closes with "Shine On You Crazy Diamond," an eleven-part suite that frames everything between it. "Welcome to the Machine" and "Have a Cigar" sit in the middle, cold and sardonic. The title track is four minutes of acoustic guitar and longing that has never been topped.

This is an original U.S. first pressing on Columbia Records (PC 33453), released September 1975. 1A/1A First lacquer cuts on both sides, pressed at Columbia's Santa Maria, California plant.

Features the Dark label with the robotic handshake pipe artwork — correct for the original 1st issue.
The original printed "Inner Sleeve" newspaper-style inner is present — advertising other Columbia releases of the era including Miles Davis, Laura Nyro, Chicago, and The Firesign Theatre. A period artifact in its own right.
No postcard insert.

— Signs of wear with decent gloss. Lots of hairlines, light surface scratches and rubbing marks with a few audible scratches. May have some clicks, pops, crackle and surface noise in places. Record play tested and plays through but possibility of a skip depending on your turntable/tonearm/stylus configuration and tracking capabilities.
Cover: VG
— Signs of wear, but still has decent gloss. Soiling and discoloration across the surface, notable corner tear/loss at upper right front, purple crayon/pen mark on left side of front cover, general edge and corner wear. Small rust spot or water mark at bottom of back cover.
Inner Sleeve: VG+
— Original printed Columbia "The Inner Sleeve" newspaper-style inner. Age-toned and yellowed consistent with a 50-year-old sleeve. Structurally intact.
