Pink Floyd : Wish You Were Here A1 / B5 2nd Press 1975
This very early second pressing plays to a very high standard with only minimal intrusion. S1 has a little interference right at the start and for a few seconds a little further in but it's not loud. The vast majority of 'Shine on...' still plays with exceptional clarity and warmth and 'Welcome To The Machine' is superb. As for S2 - it is easily one of the finest I have ever heard! The clarity, depth and resonance of the audio is STUNNING and it has the cleanest versions of 'Wish You Were Here' that I have heard in years, even the radiophonic section plays with incredible clarity and we all know how rare that is! Not a perfect LP but it does play with great quality for the vast majority.
The iconic G & L cover is in very good condition, close to Ex-, with some light wear and the lyric inner is in excellent shape overall. Unfortunately there is no sticker present here.
Interestingly there are no stampers on this pressing, only mother numbers. It's the first one I've seen like that. HTM of course refers to the famous mastering engineer, Harry T. Moss.

Visual description
The vinyl is in excellent condition and still has a strong glossy sheen with no scratches. There is one very small haze mark at the start of S1 and under a bright light I can only see a small number of faint hairlines, more on S1 than S2 I would say but still superficial. There is no groove or surface wear and the run out grooves are very clean also. The EMI Harvest labels are superb clean with hardly any spindle wear.
Play Grading
The classic intro on 'Shine On You Crazy Diamond (Part One)' does have a static 'whoosh' sound once per revolution for the first minute or so but generally speaking it is not that intrusive as it is very quiet for the majority. It then plays with stunning clarity and warmth and Gilmour's first introduction is a prime example of that, it could not play any better. As Wright's signature sound descends into near silence around the 4 minute mark the playback is perfect and Gilmour's next section, soon followed by Mason, is just as impressive, the clarity and definition of the audio is superb and there is no intrusion. Around 7 minutes there is just a hint of light static for a few seconds and a small number of ticks with only a couple that you would deem intrusive. The first verse then plays with impeccable quality, the sound so clean and clinical. The instrumental bridge is flawless and the second verse has no interference either. The 'sax' section plays with stunning precision and this high end quality is carried through until the end including the quiet outro. I will grade the intro as VG+ and from then on it is Near Mint with just one other brief VG passage.
The segue into 'Welcome To The Machine' is very clean with hardly any static and the industrial opening plays with exceptional clarity. The opening vocal section is so close to perfect with only a couple of minor statics and the following instrumental does indeed play with perfect clarity. The second verse has no intrusion as such - only the bare minimum of inner groove distortion but believe me it is very very minimal. The instrumental end section is superb and the industrial ending / audience section is among the best I have ever heard. There are only a couple of minor statics and you can easily hear the double 'pop' type sound and cough right at the end. A Near Mint version.

The intro on 'Have A Cigar' is so close to perfect with only a couple of very quiet static sounds. Harper's opening vocal section has no background and the instrumental bridge is equal to that. The second verse also plays with sublime quality and the instrumental that follows, with Gilmour leading the way, is 'as new' without question. The clarity and definition are very impressive. The radiophonic outro for once plays with stunning clarity. Mint-
Now the spoken / radiophonic intro on 'Wish You Were Here' so often plays with a fair amount of static etc, it is a well known fact, but this is the cleanest one I have heard in years, it is STUNNING! There is no background basically apart from a couple of barely audible statics and you can even hear the cough easily! The acoustic section is on the same level of clarity also and Gilmour's opening vocal has only 2/3 very quiet statics. A superb listen though and the clarity and warmth of the audio has a rare quality of sound. The instrumental break is equal to that and the chorus then plays with pristine audio. The instrumental / vocal end section plays with exceptional clarity also. I honestly believe Mint- is deserved here, and it's not often you find one of those on such an early A1/B5 pressing.
The 'wind' intro on 'Shine On You Crazy Diamond (Part Two)' plays with great clarity and with only a handful of minor statics, nothing intrusive. As Gilmour and then Wright join in the playback is faultless. The next section is just as strong and clear and as the volume builds the audio can only be described 'as new'. The power and depth of the audio is sensational - so precise and with no distortion either. The vocal section plays with genuine quality and the first part of the instrumental is the same. It continues tin the same way and there is just nothing that detracts from the overall sound. The quiet handover into the next section plays so clearly with only a couple of minor statics and Wright's end section plays with high end clarity also. I 'picked up' a mild amount of static for a few seconds but it's so so quiet you really don't notice it. The quiet outro piece has barely any static and overall I would say this classic ranges between Near Mint and Mint-
The Cover & Lyric Inner
The cover is in very good condition with some shelf wear but there is nothing that stands out as such. The edges are very clean and the thin pinched spine is in superb shape also. The corners have only minimal wear and the opening edge is close to perfect. The front cover has some light fingerprint marking near the right edge and some very minor spotting near the bottom edge plus one small corner crease top left. The back cover is in excellent order with some light spotting / surface rub by the bottom edge and a small corner crease top right. I guess some might say Ex- but I think VG+ is perhaps nearer the mark.
The lyric inner (with three cut corners) is closer to excellent with no side splits which makes a change. It has just one very small tear on the top edge and a crease on the red veil side. Aside from that it is very clean with barely any marking.

I will only send items items worldwide via tracked shipping. This provides 'peace of mind' in case of loss or damage. The shipping costs are shown below and combined shipping is always offered. Any over-payment will always be refunded.
The Royal Mail only insure up to a value of £250 so if an item sells for more it may be wise to use a courier service (e.g. Parcelforce or DPD). An extra insurance premium will be required but I will not know the exact amount until the final sale price is known. Because of this I will sometimes have to estimate the cost and this will be shown in the listing. All vinyls are packaged in strong over-sized custom made mailers with plenty of extra cardboard protection. They are placed inside separate poly-lined inners outside the cover so as to avoid seam splits in transit and then placed inside a PVC sleeve to provide even more protection. I pride myself on my high quality packaging as my feed confirms and if any customer has any specific requirements I am more than happy to help.
The mailers I use cost £1.00 each and I will use anything between 3-5 cardboard stiffeners which cost approx £0.18 each. There is also the cost of the poly-lined inner and PVC sleeve to consider, it all adds up! Not forgetting that eBay take 10% of the shipping fee also!!
