Sounds Excellent!   Columbia Custom Labels are Clean and Bright.   This is the 1975 Columbia PC 33453 Original 1ST PRESSING, Pressed at Columbia's Renowned Santa Maria, CA Pressing Plant!  Santa Maria had the newest and best Plating operation for Masters, so you get an exceptionally crisp and clear sound.  You feel like you're in the room where the music was made.  
How do you follow Dark Side Of The Moon?  The Floyd did not disappoint and did it with style, grace and enigma, a perfect complement to DSOTM:  it could even be seen as another in a Series, based on a theme of sanity and madness and the thin line between.  A Landmark and Legendary album in it's own right, this one also made references to estranged founding member, Syd Barrett and is Classic Rock Defined!  Listen for the Great Roy Harper on "Have A Cigar"...One of Rolling Stone's 500 Best Albums of All Time!!!  allmusic gives it 5 stars!!!

Cover: VG+ (see photos).   Includes the Custom pasteboard inner sleeve, which has some ring wear and age spots.   One of the most recognizable Front covers in Rock history, another bullseye for the Hipgnosis art collective who created most of The Floyd's (and many other artists') iconic covers.  (Look up the great documentary on them:  "Squaring The Circle").  Front and back of cover artwork and text are rich, clear and bright, with some shelf wear and some light marks on the front cover (see photos).  Seams, corners and spine are solid and clean with minor wear.  No splits.  No writing.  Spine print is crystal clear.

Why buy a first or early pressing and not a re-issue or a ‘re-mastered’ vinyl album? 
First and early pressings are pressed from the first generation lacquers and stampers. They usually sound vastly superior to later issues/re-issues (which, in recent times, are often pressed from whatever 'best' tapes or digital sources are currently available) - many so-called 'audiophile' new 180g pressings are cut from hi-res digital sources…essentially an expensive CD pressed on vinyl.  Why  experience the worse elements of both formats?  These are just High Maintenance CDs, with mid-ranges so cloaked with a veil as to sound smeared.  They are nearly always compressed with murky transients and a general lifelessness in the overall sound.  There are exceptions where re-masters/re-presses outshine the original issues, but they are exceptions and not the norm.  First or early pressings nearly always have more immediacy, presence and dynamics. The sound staging is wider.  Subtle instrument nuances are better placed with more spacious textures. Balances are firmer in the bottom end with a far-tighter bass. Upper-mid ranges shine without harshness, and the overall depth is more immersive.  Inner details are  clearer.   On first and early pressings, the music tends to sound more ‘alive’ and vibrant.  The physics of sound energy is hard to clarify and write about from a listening perspective, but the best we can describe it is to say that you can 'hear' what the mixing and mastering engineers wanted you to hear when they first recorded the music.   

Wish You Were Here Review

Pink Floyd followed the commercial breakthrough of Dark Side of the Moon with Wish You Were Here, a loose concept album about and dedicated to their founding member Syd Barrett. The record unfolds gradually, as the jazzy textures of "Shine on You Crazy Diamond" reveal its melodic motif, and in its leisurely pace, the album shows itself to be a warmer record than its predecessor. Musically, it's arguably even more impressive, showcasing the group's interplay and David Gilmour's solos in particular. And while it's short on actual songs, the long, winding soundscapes are constantly enthralling.
