(U.S. de minimis customs exception had been ended on August 29th, 2025. Import duties, taxes and charges are not included in the item price or shipping charges. These charges are the buyer's responsibility. However, on August 15, 2025, U.S. Customs and Border Protection announced new guidelines regarding the de minimis customs exception, but it is impossible for the transport operators and postal operators in all countries to process Trump's tariffs in accordance with these new guidelines. I can still send to the U.S. as an individual after August 27, 2025, but as of August 27, 2025, only limited products (such as "CD", "LP", "Cassette Tape", "Book", "Poster" etc...) within the limited value can be sent to the U.S. from Japan, Europe & almost all countries "between individuals only". I already confirmed the following exemption and the packages have been arrived and no tax was corrected. The executive order going into effect on August 29, 2025, removes a long-standing “de minimis” tariff exemption for most goods valued under USD $800. However, this change does not apply to “informational materials” like music media, which are still exempt from tariffs under US law 50 USC 1702(b)(3).
On August 28, US Customs and Border Protection confirmed this exemption in its E-Commerce Frequently Asked Questions, stating that the “duty-free de minimis treatment shall remain available for [sic] goods covered under 50 U.S.C. § 1702(b) - such as certain donations and informational materials.”
Simply put, music and informational media have always been exempt from tariffs and continue to be so at this time.")
