Description
Artist: PINK FLOYD
Title: THE WALL
Format: 2 x LP
Label: HARVEST, UK (SHDW 411)
Year: 1979
Style: progressive rock
Info: Rare original UK 1st pressing of this classic double LP, and a lovely copy too!
Has early matrix numbers, providing top audio separation on all frequencies! :
Side 1 - SHSP 4111 A-2U (3 / 210 / TML-X)
Side 2 - SHSP 4111 B-3U (4 / 218 / TML-X)
Side 3 - SHSP 4112 A-3U (3 / 220 / TML-X)
Side 4 - SHSP 4112 B-3U (3 / ??? / TML-X with crossed out 'M')
Has 1st press gatefold sleeve which is slightly off-white with purple brick outlines and was made from just one big folded piece of card with the glued seam along the top edge of the inside. All later pressings had two seams, this is a surefire way to identify an original first press, and there aren't many of them about!
Also on the inside of sleeve are credits 'Words and music Roger Waters'. Later pressings state 'Written by Roger Waters'...
There is no barcode on rear of sleeve.
The inner lyric sleeves also are unique examples of a 1st press! They have rounded die-cut edges, are printed on much thicker card stock, and are uncoloured light brown shade card on the inside. Also both inner sleeves have 9-inch thumb hole edges (later pressings were shorter).
Vinyls in excellent+ condition and look superbly clean and shiny with just a tiny amount of extremely faint sleeve removal traces. Both play through superbly with virtually no deterioration in sound quality except for just an occasional light background crackle and a slight tick here and there. A really nice copy!
Labels are very clean with only a small amount of spindle marks (the side 2 label only has a handful!).
Sleeve in excellent condition and looks overall very tidy with just a bit of light dirt marking and light edge discolouring in parts, but not a crease in sight! Spines are tidy and in-shape with no splits, and corners have only light scuffs. Light discolouring on the main spine and one tiny faint mark in the middle, but no squashing. Opening edges are tidy with just light rubbing in parts. No ring-wear on front, a bit of extremely faint ring-wear on rear. No writing or sticker marks. Inside looks very tidy with just a handful of tiny dust speckles.
Inner sleeves in excellent+ condition and look nicely tidy with no edge splits and just a small amount of light dust marking.
