Description

Per Wikipedia, The Dark Side of the Moon is the eighth studio album by Pink Floyd, released in March, 1973 by Harvest Records in the UK and Capitol Records in the US.  The recording was conceived as a concept album that would focus on the pressures faced by the band during their arduous lifestyle, and also deal with the mental health problems of the former band member Syd Barrett, who departed the group in 1968.  The album was recorded at Abbey Road Studios, London between June 1972 and January 1973. This album is among the most critically acclaimed albums and often features in professional listings of the greatest of all time. It brought Pink Floyd international fame, wealth and plaudits to all four band members.  It has been reissued a number of times and continues to be a highly sought after recording.  The album up for sale is a limited edition reissue from Mobile Fidelity Sound Labs, Inc under license from Capitol Records and was released in June 1979.  The record label indicates the disc was pressed in Japan.
The cover is in excellent condition with no signs of wear on the front or back covers.  All seams, edges and corners are free of wear.  The covers are glossy and the artwork is iconic with sharpness and no discoloration (see photos).  The interior covers of this gatefold album are pristine and contain track listings, lyrics and production information.
The inner sleeve is original and is a poly vinyl, static free sleeve for added protection againt dust accumalation.  It also comes with a cardboard enclosure for added protection and contains a list of addition MFSL recordings.
The recording is a half-speed master recording from the original master tapes and is in EX condition.  The recording was cleaned and tested using Audacity.  All tracks are free from skips and there is, virtually, no background noise.  The disc surfaces are free of any significant abnormalities or signs of wear.  The sound is crisp and clean.  This recording is of "audiophile" quality along Goldmine standards.
