Description:
Front Cover: Kaleidoscope picture of the band with "PINK FLOYD" at bottom. EMI logo in upper left corner. Laminated flipback cover.
Back Cover: At bottom foldover of back cover it says "6709 TPS Printed and made by Ernest J. Day & Co. Ltd., London SX 6157 / SCX 6157." and no reference to file under popular music in top right hand corner.

Inner Sleeve: brown printing on white paper. On the front side is the EMI logo at the top center, with "Add these outstanding LPs to your collection" at the top,"Remember-the new Emitex cleans and preserves your records," and "Patents applied for" at the bottom. On the back side is the EMI logo at the top center, with " - the greatest recording organization in the world" at the top, 16 LP covers pictured in the middle including the Sgt Pepper, and "E.M.I. Records (The Gramophone Company Ltd.) Hayes - Middlesex - England, Made and Printed in Great Britain" at the bottom.
Label: Black Columbia label with silver text, and a blue "Columbia Records Magic Notes Trademark" at the top, and a blue "Columbia" in the center.
Underneath the blue "Columbia" it says "Sold in U.K. subject to resale price conditions. See price lists."
The bottom of the label, it says "Made in Gt. Britain."
Text around the bottom edge of the label starts at 10 o'clock and says:

The Gramophone Co., Ltd. All rights of the manufacturer and of the owner of the recorded work reserved. Unauthorized public performance, broadcasting, and copying of this record prohibited.

Tax Stamp: On side 1 within the circle that is stamped around the spindle hole are the letters "K" and "T," one on each side of the spindle hole.

Stamper Codes: These are the small letters that appear at about

3 o-clock on side one and 9 o-clock on side 2.

The stamper codes used by Columbia/EMI Records is based on "Gramophone Ltd." and are as follows:

G=1
R=2
A=3
M=4
O=5
P=6
H=7
L=8
T=9
D=0

Example: A record with a "G" stamper letter indicates that the record was made from the first stamper. Later pressings may have stamper numbers in combination, such as "AL" which means 38.

This album bears the single stamper code of G this indicates that this album is one of the very first 200 pressings

The Sleeve.

Front, this front cover is in almost mint condition and still retains it's beautifull glossy sheen, no splits, See picture.

Back Cover.

back cover bears all the information this album should have.including the printed and made by Ernrest J. Day & Co. Ltd London ( see Picture), it also omits File under POPULAR: Pop Groups. the only thing I can see wrong with the back cover is small scuff to the left hand corner.

The vinyl.

Some very vey slight marking from removal from sleeve.

This album I grade according to the record collectors guide. as (EX) cellent

The grading system I use when determining the condition of the vinyl is The 'Record Collectors' Grading System, taken from the Rare Record Price Guide book.

Mint (M) The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.

Near Mint (NM) The record looks brand new with no scuffing or any deterioration in sound quality and only the smallest hint that its ever been played. The cover and any additional extras are clean, crisp and with no wear whatsoever.

Excellent (EX) The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

Very Good (VG) The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

Good (G) The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc.

Fair (F) The record is still just about playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.

Poor (P) The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

What more is there to say about this classic album by probably the greatest progressive rock band in the world but Good luck in your bidding.
