Description Of Item For Sale: Very first pressing of Pink Floyds very first Album.Second pressings have File Under Popular music written on the rear flipback,this Ernest J Day sleeve does not have that.Front is laminated,rear not.The record is original and has the K T tax stamper on side 1,SOLD IN THE U.K.SUBJECT TO RETAIL,and the GRAMOPHONE CO.LTD TEXT.
This record plays so perfectly,and is in such great condition,I expect big bids on this.For this reason,I recommend postal insurance,and some sort of Signed for option,to protect me,you and this rare record.There are so many different options,I am quoting only the basic postage cost,i.e.1st class or airmail,extra insurance etc,will be payed by you if you request it.I am not going to artificially inflate the cost,all Royal mail prices and options are there to view on www.royalmail.com. I have charged £1 for the package,this includes the cruciform,and PVC sleeves,stiffeners etc.Postage will be quite a heavy item,I want this well packed to arrive as it leaves,in superb condition.
Condition:
Sleeve- Excellent,a slight crease on the bottom right corner(see photo)and about 2 1/2 inches of rubbing on the top edge,due to a PVC sleeve in the box next to it being folded over and rubbing during the many years this record has been stored in the suitcase type record box.The spine is perfect,there are no scribbles or stains.Virtually no feathering at the opening.
Vinyl- Excellent++.I can't quite call it near mint due to a few of the lightest of papermarks.Lovely and shiny and clean,although I have never cleaned it,I don't think it has ever been cleaned.I bought this in a small collection where even old records like this were hardly played.I have just played the record,there were no jumps or sticks.I heard 3 or 4 very tiny little pops,that's it.No annoying crackle,simply sounded amasing,as good as it gets,so rare to find,I am sure if you look after this,the value will shoot up over the years far quicker than money in the bank,this really is a high end collectable record.I should keep it,but will never listen to it and need some money for motorbikes etc.
Labels- Excellent+,lovely and bright,no scribbles or stains,only very light signs of spindle use.
Innersleeve-,Excellent,patents applied for original,made in great britain.Record will be put in a different inner for posting,to avoid splitting the original.

All Items are Graded As In The Record Collector 2006 Price Guide,in Brief these grades are as folows:
Mint-Unplayed,sealed or as good as an unplayed undamaged item,.
Excellent-Some signs the record has been played,very little lessening in sound quality.Cover/Packaging might have slight wear/creasing.
Very Good-Been Played many times,no major deterioration in sound,despite noticeable surface marks,occational light scratch.Normal wear & tear on the cover or extra items,without major defect is acceptable.
Good-Played so much,used so much,sounds bad,many problems such as splits,stains etc.
Fair-Just Playable-not nice.
