Rare Pioneer Label Radio Transcription
featuring The Sons of the Pioneers
MC'd by Bob Nolan and the gang
Offered here is a rare glimpse into the early days of modern country music with a hard to find 16" radio transcription on the Pioneer label. Late in 1946, the Sons of the Pioneers started their own transcription company - 'Pioneer Radio Productions' - which supplied radio stations with 15-minute transcribed shows featuring songs by the Pioneers. The series of transcriptions were recorded in conjunction with Teleways Radio Productions Inc of Hollywood, California, and syndicated across the country. The series ran five days a week for about one year - approximately 260 programs.
These are far and few between these days and are very hard to find as nice as this. You can hear a sample of this transcription here:
