This tape features Richard Mueller Lampertz conducting the Nord Deutsches Symphonie Orchestra, with guest organist is Gerhard Gregor. This is a Quadraphonic tape. Tape speed is 7 ½ IPS. The following description is taken from the back of the box:

In the world of music, nothing has a majesty to compare to the symphony orchestra. In the world of musical instruments, no instrument compares with the grandeur and majesty of the pipe-organ. For the pipe-organ contains all the orchestral elements of the symphony and yet in volume surpasses it by the very colossal nature of its size and construction.

In this most unusual album the symphony orchestra and the king of instruments are married to create the most astounding musical experience ever put on tape. The audio range, dimension of sound, and sheer power of these works at moments is overwhelming.

In Grofe’s Cloudburst from Grand Canyon Suite, the listener is thrust into the terrifying “eye” of the storm. In Gates of Kiev, an almost “impossible to record bass response” is felt from the organ portraying the massive walls of the ancient city. The Finale to the 1812 Overture is engulfed in flames of triumph as the bells, both organ orchestral, rejoice in Napoleon’s departure from Moscow.
