Description

This auction is for a very scarce original issue 78rpm COLUMBIA LABEL 99-D record recorded in 1924 by A.J. PIRON'S NEW ORLEANS ORCHESTRA.  Songs include; BRIGHT STAR BLUES and GHOST OF THE BLUES.  This record and label are in remarkable VG+ condition and plays excellent (on my 78 player).  Very little if any surface scuffing noted, record is bright and clean.  Sleeve is Good but appears to be the original sleeve. 

Armand Piron's New Orleans Orchestra was one of the most popular bands in New Orleans in the 1920s. They travelled to New York and played at the Cotton Club and Roseland in 1923. They also recorded two songs with Blues singer Esther Bigeou while in New York, including a fine vocal version of West Indies Blues.
