Original Japan-only pressing from 1978 on EAST WORLD, EWLF-98006. Audiophile recording, mastering and pressing, Direct-To-Disc, Soundfile Series. Contains a recordsized 4 pages insert with infos in English and Japanese about recording-details, lyrics, photos etc.

Line-up: Paul Jackson/acoustic & electric bass,vocal - Herbie Hancock/ARP Odyssey,clavinet,piano - Bennie Maupin/bass clarinet & tenorsax - Alphonse Mouzon/drums - Webster Lewis/hammond organ,clavinet,fender rhodes,Yamaha synth & ARP string synth - Ray Obiedo/electric guitar

This LP was recorded during the 1978 Japan tour of THE HEADHUNTERS (Hancock, Maupin and Jackson being members). It has dope beats, heavy deep bass-lines, funky drumming, tasty synth-sounds etc. Lots of breaks and cool funky tracks in outstanding audiophile sound-quality. Hard to find import-LP. I offer an original 1976 US-pressing of the Headhunters LP “Survival Of The Fittest” in my current auctions.

Condition: the record looks and plays in mint-. The heavy cardboard-cover has intact seams/spine with just a little rub, front & back are real fine, there’s slightest corner/shelfwear; overall mint--/ex++. The OIS is in mint-.

Zustand: die LP ist optisch & akkustisch in mint-. Das schwere Papp-Cover hat nur ganz leichte Lagerspuren, alle Kanten sind intakt mit ganz leichtem Abrieb an einigen wenigen Stellen, Vorder- & Rückseite sind sehr schön erhalten; insgesamt in mint--/ex++. Das 4-seitige Insert ist in mint-. alle Platten habe ich professionell gereinigt und angehört (meist ganz, manchmal in Ausschnitten). Kommen mit neuer Außen- & Innenhülle !

Grading & Cleaning:

  • the record has been cleaned on my professional HANNL record cleaning machine

  • after that I playgraded it (completely or at least in parts) on my Rega Planar 9, Moving Coil cartridge by EINSTEIN:TU-3 Super Fine Line ( please consider that the playback might differ a bit depending on your own equipment )

  • I also visually graded the record in daylight, in normal artificial light & under a strong halogen lamp

  • only an unplayed record is mint, the highest grading for a used record is mint- ! My basic gradings are: mint – ex – vg

  • cleaned records are stored in a new pro innersleeve and they are placed in a PVC protection-sleeve
