THE PLASTIC CLOUD – The Plastic Cloud. Lion Productions LP-103. NEW BLACK VINYL RECORD ALBUM. Comes in a clear open-ended poly outer sleeve with hype sticker, as shipped by the label. This ships with the disc outside the jacket. Originally issued in 1968 on Allied Records of Canada. This repressing issued in 2024 in a limited run of 400 copies (200 black / 200 coke bottle tint clear). This is a black vinyl pressing. Includes an LP size lyric/liner/credit 2-sided insert + a replica vintage press release (1-sided, 8.5x11). NOTE:  The hype sticker uses the same text as the 2021 repress so incorrectly states the press run as 500; also reprints the same bar code number for both the black and clear vinyl pressing, just to make it a little more confusing (if bar codes are your thing).

DESCRIPTION:  Plastic Cloud recorded, quite simply, one of the greatest underground psychedelic albums ever made: a swirl of gossamer vocals and Tolkien references, swathed in the some of the most relentless fuzz guitar you will ever hear. A record with few equals, full of foreboding melodies and lovely hippie harmonies, as well as some of the trippiest fuzz guitar ever recorded. There is no need to single out a specific track, they are all excellent—one is equally as good as the next. Take for example the album centerpiece, the ten-and-a-half-minute You Don't Care, an insane piece of social commentary that features terrific back-of-the-mix fuzz guitar as an elusive focal point to its extended pounding-drum laden instrumental breaks; a ten-minute swath of lysergic fuzz guitar that closes out the first side, it doesn't overstay its welcome, winding its way to a final freak out. Essential psychedelia!

All LPs are removed from their jackets and placed outside of the jacket for shipping. If an album comes sealed (and will be noted as such in the above description), it will be shipped whole unless you request that I open it up to place the disc outside of the jacket for shipping. Both jacket and disc are placed inside of an outer plastic sleeve before packing for shipping. I use professional corrugated record mailers with inside packing.

These items are placed inside of a clear poly outer sleeve upon their receipt by me

MIX:  This sometimes appears in my title line and refers to a group's/artist's music having a mix of styles such a rock track with jazz then followed by a straight rock track followed by a psych rock track, etc., as opposed to a blues album with the album's tracks having predominantly one style.
