Some words on this issue: P.M.7 * JUPITER: “Lover Of Emperor ~ Paradise Bangkok” (Sathi Double Man Brand – S.T.-010) Super clean copy of this much-acclaimed and demented Thai beat masterpiece. Some keen music freaks out there might recognize the name of this beat band deluxe from the recent Sublime Frequencies collection “Shadow Music of Thailand”. Well instead of a mere mention and a track on a compilation album, what you have here is the true original 1st Thai pressing of this album in top condition. Fantastic mid-sixties Thai guitar pop heavily influenced by Western rock and roll and the instrumental wonders of the Shadows and the Ventures. Marketed at the time as “Thai Modernized Music” which basically it was since well-known Thai melodies were remolded after having undergo a Shadow/ Venture like bath of instrumental guitar riffing, blending and fusing in exotica moves, Latin vibes, Go-Go butt shakes, soul flavors and other outer worldly like spices and herbs. And as a result these groups like PM7 and Jupiter birthed out a highly unique Thai sound. On the Sublime Frequencies compilation, tracks appear of the P.M.7 and Jupiter, taken from this original LP. So here ya have the real deal, a slice of Thai pop guitar history, original pressing in top condition. Hard to believe some records were conserved so good in that humid climate. But this one is a proof some did. Very rare in such nice condition.
Our grading scale: Mint/ Near Mint/ Excellent/ VG++/. We don’t sell anything below VG++. VG++ grade is basically that the record has some scuffs and has wear. Excellent: record has hardly no visible defects and is preserved with care and attention, the condition most collectors take pride in to file away. Near Mint: a dash below mint, just perfect. Mint: like new.
