Description
Victor 80051
Artist: Fr. Dukli Wiejska Banda
Tracks: Na Wykretke (oberek) (Twisting Oberek) / Polka Z Debowca (Polka from Debowca)
Frank Dukla's "village band" was one of the great Polish groups that recorded, and in my opinion "Twisting Oberek" is their best song. An instrumental with excellent string parts, wonderful bowed bass - just top notch local music. Recorded in Chicago in 1927.
These records were damaged after just a few plays because of the massive sound of the bowed bass. Thankfully, "Twisting Oberek" isn't so bad and has no stripping, but slight wear. The flip has a bit of peaking on the bass, but it's not too rough.
Condition: E-/V+ (light wear on "Twisting" - slightly more wear on loud bass on flip side)
I will be selling a lot of amazing discs from around the world in the coming months. Please bookmark me and check back in.
