Artist: Thompson Twins

Format: super rare 7” ‘Capital Magnetics Winchester VA. USA’ acetate. This has the writing ‘ARIOLA’ in red hand-written pen and followed by ‘Thompson Twins / 45rpm stereo / Runaway’. This is a one-sided acetate with an additional drill hole through the label.

Background: "Runaway" is a song by the English pop band Thompson Twins, released by T Records on 14 May 1982 as the second and final single from their second studio album, Set. The song was written by Tom Bailey and produced by Steve Lillywhite. "Runaway" was released by T Records on 14 May 1982. It failed to enter the UK Singles Chart but did reach the unnumbered 'bubbling under' section for five consecutive weeks in June and July 1982.

Condition: record comes in a generic thin paper white die-cut sleeve with moderate grubbiness, moderate age yellowing and material creasing. Graded at best good condition. The super rare acetate has been played twice through and cleaned. I have recorded some of the playback on my high-end Marantz deck and system. The record played with moderate crackles in the lead in and exit of the track but played all the way though with some minor crackles, and not nasty pops, sticks or jumps. Maybe a tiny amount of distortion on certain frequencies but certainly minor – playback grading very good condition. The visual look of the disk has multiple hairlines, a few minor marks but no scratches. Visual grading very good minus (-) condition. (Please check out the multiple photo’s I have taken in direct sunlight). This track is new to me  - I did note the time which I would say was approximately three minutes, twelve seconds in length.
