PORTEBELLO EXPLOSION: We can fly/Hot Smoke and Sasfrass (Columbia C 006-90 655, GERMANY 1969)
Fabulous U.K. psych 45. With an opening line as "Come and sit beside me on my magic carpet ride..." you know you can't go wrong. This band (note the misspelling of the group name!) used to be the Mirage and recorded this 45 in the U.K. on the Carnaby label. Here we have an obscure German release with art-sleeve. "We can fly" has been on some of the "Rubble" compilation and off course, on the "We can fly" sampler. Their version of Bubble Puppy's "Hot smoke & sassafras" is one of the best I know...a groovy hard psych dancer that DJ-ers and their audience will love...and still non-comp!
Strict grading. Record/sleeve = VG++/VG++ (slight rw).
