Description
Small cache of experimental avant noise NWW list type music. Portsmouth Sinfonia/ Plays the Popular Classics. Columbia KC 33049. Orig. US 1974 pressing. Cover is VG+ w. some ringwear and seamwear; LP is EX w. some minor sleeve lines. Infamous Eno produced LP of an idiot savant orchestra of naive avant garde and untutored players (they all seem to have 2 left hands). So they all torture classical standards to such a degree that the painfully familiar melodies begin to sound like minimalist microtonal drones. That's the drift. There's Gavin Bryars, Steve Beresford, Nigel Combes, and Eno, who molests a clarinet. For fans of Obscure Music, Incus and Bead labels. Terms of sale: Payment by paypal or money order within 5 days.
