Thanks for looking at my listing, for the 1974 experimental classical project “Portsmouth Sinfonia Plays The Popular Classics” on vinyl. This was a group of musicians of varying levels of skill who were assembled to try to perform famous classical compositions. Some people played instruments they weren’t trained on, some had no musical training at all and others were accomplished musicians. The results range from brilliant to comical and it’a a fun listen. Brian Eno plays clarinet on the album. This has never been released on CD.
This is a rare radio station promo copy with timing strip. Both the disc and jacket are between VG++ and near mint, with minimal wear, sharp corners and no seam splits to the jacket. There are light sleeve marks on both sides of the record that do not affect play, and it plays beautifully with minimal surface noise. The disc has been cleaned and vacuumed and placed in a fresh poly sleeve, but the original generic inner sleeve is also included.
