Description

PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING: Please read the entire auction listing, including shipping costs, before writing to ask a question.   OUR GOAL IS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. In order to meet that goal, we will ALWAYS work with our customers on any concerns that may arise. Because of that dedication, there should be no need to open a resolution dispute before working with us.  Please keep in mind, we would prefer to continue to provide you the opportunity to acquire the rare music we present each and every week.   Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office. Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has become very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable.  We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our well over +22,000 positive feedback.   We use an ultrasonic KLAudio machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery.   We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. Please give us 5 stars in each category through the feedback system, and we will be able to effectively continue to fulfill your passion for rare and collectible music! We have served thousands of satisfied customers - far more than our feedback records indicate - and our aim is to continue to do so.

  TOP KEEPER ~ 1965 RARITY

FINAL COLLECTION KEEPER (Dec 1965 Artifact)
  1. THE SORROWS roots are traced to England, Coventry (around 1963), where Don Fardon (vocals), Pip Whitcher (lead guitar), Terry Jukes (rhythm guitar), and Philip Packham (bass) played in various local beat groups.
  2. While plying their trade in the local night clubs  THE SORROWS were discovered by John Schroeder, Picadilly’s PYE label manager

[isdntekvideo]   Their first single, “I Don’t Want To Be Free/Come With Me,” is an excellent pounding Kinks-like number, full of power chords and tough biting vocals. Then another impact-heavy quality number was leaked out (“Baby”) yet success seemed to strangely elude the boys.

    It wasn’t until
Take A Heart that the THE SORROWS had their big top 20 smash.
  4. Originally written “Take A Heart” for our vote, is one of Englands greatest rocker boomers.  The song’s arrangement gradually builds up into an explosion of speedy guitar work, charging rhythms, and violent lead vocals (Fardon was a great vocalist).  Without question, this track is one of the true classics.
  5. To capitalize on the success Pye released the Take A Heart LP in December of 1965.
  6. The LP is "killer"-rated, great, featuring pounding originals and and some interesting R&B raver covers.
  7. Standouts include their ferocious “Teenage Letter,” the trashy mod rocker “Come With Me,”  a couple of moody beat ballads (“How Love Used To Be” and “We Should Get Along Fine”), and a Dylan influenced folk-rocker titled “Don’t Sing No Sad Songs For Me.”

  8. Another great cut is their impact “Let Me In,” a track that rocks really hard and features impressive fretwork.  "Take A Heart is right up there with ANY early Stones, Pretty Things or Small Faces early forces; it’s that good.

The Sorrows soon relocated to Italy, from Britain, where they were understandably far more popular, releasing a few more tracks which were highly worthwhile - yet not quite in league  as this original "Take A Heart" Lp
