THE POWER OF BECKETT-45-“Lost Soul In Disillusion” b/w “Back To Me”-Quality Records # 1895X-MONSTER 1967 Montreal CANADA Garage-Punk. WOW! THIS IS ONE OF THE GREATEST KILLER RECORDS EVER!! Haven’t heard this in awhile and upon spinning, was floored by its greatness!! A side-the title speaks for itself—ULTRAKILLERKOOL trippy lyrics, great vocals-lead vocal and backup vocals sound like those of the ‘Journey To The Center Of The Mind’ Amboy Dukes-Farfisa organ dominated with a stinging guitar cutting through at times—Killer Farfisa lead break with a short but savage lead guitar break-followed by a trippy acid-induced bridge-then followed by one the MOST KILLER extended lead guitar breaks…5 STARS OUT OF 5…TOP 5 MONSTER…This rates up there with Canadian greats THE UNDERWORLD, HAUNTED and UGLY DUCKLINGS…B side is also great-not acid-tinged or as heavy as the A side, but nonetheless a really great track-again Farfisa organ dominated-sounds like a cut off of the first or second AMBOY DUKES album…comes with cool QUALITY RECORDS stock sleeve…THIS RECORD IS LETHAL!!!
